This is false. As of right now, NOBODY has more cap space than Miami.

They can give him max money and not break a sweat. The only question is how much Wade and Bosh want......Bosh will be the sticking point. He's the only one that can't generate income outside the game. Wade has other avenues of making money.

If Wade and Bosh sign for 10 mill each say, that gives them enough cap to go after possibly two solid other pieces - as long as those pieces don't cost more than 8 mill per.

If Wade only gets 12, Bosh goes down to about 15, Haslem gets 1, and Lebron gets his 22. They only have about 7 mil or less to work with. Tbey might have the most but they coulldn't get Melo with that maybe a couple cheap role players.

But they could sign after the fact, so they could go over the cap. I guess it all depends who they get to help Lebron.

I doubt Bosh get 18 if he stays. I think probably 15 or 16

Until I actually hear LeBron James say that he will only except max money from the HEAT, I'm calling bullshit on anyone reporting it.

Bosh/ Wade are his " brothers". He makes more off the court then both of them combined x 2.
He's not going to make them be the only to sacrifice in order to build his resume.

James is planning to attend World Cup soccer games in the upcoming days.

Do you really think he'd worry about flying halfway around the world to be there if he wasn't as certain as certain could be what his NBA future was here?

He has time and plenty of it. Before he makes any decision he wants see what kind of team Riley will put around him. If he likes it he will come back, I think there is a very good chance anyway just not convinced yet it is his best option.

Yes,he has time, but all these other teams aren't just going to sit around the next week missing out on players who will commit to them in hopes of James possibly coming.

It appears to me like he is timing this to get away from all the frenzy.
He's already met with Riley and IMO the agreed upon perimeters have already been put into place.
As long as Riley delivers whatever was discussed, he's not coming back to meet with anyone.

I don't believe he will only accept the MAX amount either, it just isn't like him.

Sounds like Kobe.

Kobe can say whatever he wants, but he valued that 48M ( can't say I blame him) over the importance of hopefully ever leading the Lakers towards a championship run.

Back to the Heat.
People are talking Wade/ Bosh opting out as ultimate sign of thinking James is a cinch to return, but I think UD opting out is equally or more important.

I know he was planning to take his 4.8 this season and then seriously consider retiring and focusing on his Subways and other off court investments.
For him to spread out the money and put his body through 2 extra years of NBA beatings to only make 3-4 more M, tells me he thinks he'll be competing for rings those years or he would not have agreed to it.

Agreed.

But, if anyone deserves a Max deal, it's him.

I think they all are willing to take cuts to bring in the right guy.

I don't really think it will be a big name either.

I see them bringing in a Blatche type big and maybe a guy like Vince Carter, if he was willing to leave Dallas.

Evan Turner completely killed his value with that poor showing in Indiana.

He might be worth a look if he comes at a reasonable price.

why not go to orlando, oladipo is already better than wade. They have a good center and nice young guys like fournier, tobias and aaron gordon. Gets the max, stays in florida and stays in the east. You know his cheap ass doesn't want any property tax.

Ariza is good shooting, versatile player they are missing, but I feel like they still need one piece in the post. Defensive guy that can score inside, well he named Blatche, not a bad option

All they have is oladipo, Harkless is improving, and Vucevic. That team isn't even a playoff team with LBJ they aren't a legit contender to win it all.

Oladipo is good, but he's not better than Wade. Orlando with Lebron probably wouldn't even make it out of the East. They have a nice young core, but they're years away from contending.

I'v been touting either a Jordan Hill/Ariza combo or If IF Pau would take WAY less, an ariza/Pau combo since the end of the finals.

Shaneman: How did your math come out to that only being about 7 million left to spend? I might be missing something, but this is what I get.

LeBron 22, Bosh 15, wade 12, haslem 1. =50 million. 63 million dollar cap should give them 13ish. Plenty of room to sign a few solid role players and then possibly bring some guys back at the vet min. (Bird, Allen, James Jones)

now that ive had some time to think about it. taking max money just shows that money means more to him then rings. if he wanted more rings he would take less and let a team build around him

Not sure i see wade taking 12 mil a year salary. Not even sure what he brought in last season without looking it up. Doubt he takes less than 17-18 mil. Especially if lebron is taking a max deal. My prediction is this will be the break up of the heat.
