Considering in the last 3 postseasons (and pretty much in the reg. season) he's led his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.....I'd say he deserves the max.

It's not like he gets the luxury of sitting out 30 regular season games.

Can't go to the Clippers on a max deal without the Clippers shedding players off their pay roll. Also, I'm waiting to see what happens before jumping to conclusions. Same shit happened 4 years ago and everyone was constantly wondering what was going on. Wade was going to Chicago, Lebron was going to NY. Everyone buys into the rumors too damn much.

That he does. However.... With the Max contract in hand teams can't really build much around him... Only a select few teams can... I think he goes elsewhere besides Miami.. Because does Miami have the money to sign him to the Max... Get Wade back and other players?

I believe I read that his first year of a max deal with Miami is 20mil. Other teams max offer isn't as large as Miami's can offer over the life of the contract. James has never signed a 5yr max deal but may do so now for the sake of security because he's not getting younger

I have a hard time believing that Wade and Bosh opted out not knowing if James will re-sign.

Yeah put it that way then he might be back with Miami. I am sure Bosh and Wade know something that no one else does.

The thing is if they sign Haslem, LBJ, a washed up Wade, and Bosh they can't get any better bc they have limited cap after all that. And that teams is not going to win a championship.

Lebron could probably have a better team on Cleveland if he can recruit another star, especially since they have more cap to work with.

This is false. As of right now, NOBODY has more cap space than Miami.

They can give him max money and not break a sweat. The only question is how much Wade and Bosh want......Bosh will be the sticking point. He's the only one that can't generate income outside the game. Wade has other avenues of making money.

If Wade and Bosh sign for 10 mill each say, that gives them enough cap to go after possibly two solid other pieces - as long as those pieces don't cost more than 8 mill per.

Sorry, but I don't see Wade and Bosh playing for 9 or 10 mil. a year. If they do then more power to them....but if they don't, this is gonna be a bad look for Lebron. He MORE than deserves the max, but Lebron and the big 3 popularized the whole taking less situation. If he takes the max, after all of that, while hamstringing the Heat, he would set himself and his team back. He can't take the max and expect Pat Riley to get another star. I mean if Wade and Bosh take EXTREME paycuts, and another guy comes along and takes an EXTREME paycut then maybe so, but that's asking alot imo.

All of these assumptions are false. You are all assuming that these guys will resign BEFORE the Heat find outside help. All of these players, UD, Wade, Bosh and LeBron have their Bird rights. The Heat can sign pretty much whoever they want, and then resign their players after the fact. They will surely go well over the cap to do so.

The whole point of these guys opting out is not necessarily so they would take significantly less money, but so that the Heat have the cap space to go get whoever, and then still resign the big 3 back later. Arison will take the biggest hit for sure if he wants to keep LeBron.

Not if you really think about it.
It would all come down to how much Wade trusts Riley ( which I would assume is 100%).
Let's say Riley tells Wade, if you opt out of this 2 yr/ 40, I promise you I'll get you 4 yr/55-60 and we'll figure out the yearly structure once this FA ends.
That means Wade is getting and additional 15-20M guaranteed.
I doubt in 2 years anyone is offering him close to 10M.

Now, Riley must be just a creative with Bosh.

The Heat need to improve their roster NOW to satisfy James, then just like what happened in 2010, worry about the ramifications and address it again a few years down the road.

If Riley can just get James to commit for 3 more years, he's in a perfect spot.
By then, James is entering his 14 th season. At that point, if it comes to it, losing him won't be that big of a deal.

I thought that also, but it's not correct.
There is a cap hold based on all of there salaries.
They are very limited about what they can do, and need to know what the cumulative total of the Big 3s salaries will be before they do anything.
