Los Angeles Clippers are LeBron James' best title shot - ESPN
This news all but guarantees he stays in Miami.
Considering in the last 3 postseasons (and pretty much in the reg. season) he's led his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.....I'd say he deserves the max.
It's not like he gets the luxury of sitting out 30 regular season games.
I believe I read that his first year of a max deal with Miami is 20mil. Other teams max offer isn't as large as Miami's can offer over the life of the contract. James has never signed a 5yr max deal but may do so now for the sake of security because he's not getting youngerThat he does. However.... With the Max contract in hand teams can't really build much around him... Only a select few teams can... I think he goes elsewhere besides Miami.. Because does Miami have the money to sign him to the Max... Get Wade back and other players?

I have a hard time believing that Wade and Bosh opted out not knowing if James will re-sign.
The thing is if they sign Haslem, LBJ, a washed up Wade, and Bosh they can't get any better bc they have limited cap after all that. And that teams is not going to win a championship.
Lebron could probably have a better team on Cleveland if he can recruit another star, especially since they have more cap to work with.
No way Wade would opt out without being 100% lebron stays.
All of these assumptions are false. You are all assuming that these guys will resign BEFORE the Heat find outside help. All of these players, UD, Wade, Bosh and LeBron have their Bird rights. The Heat can sign pretty much whoever they want, and then resign their players after the fact. They will surely go well over the cap to do so.
The whole point of these guys opting out is not necessarily so they would take significantly less money, but so that the Heat have the cap space to go get whoever, and then still resign the big 3 back later. Arison will take the biggest hit for sure if he wants to keep LeBron.
