LeBackpedal: Term to describe the worst kind of back-pedalling. When you realize in your mind that you have been horribly wrong about yourself, your situation, your decisions, everything the entire time. So in a pathetic attempt to redeem yourself, you do the most humble thing you can possibly think of to make yourself seem to look good, when really, all you care about is your image.

Example A: LeBron James realized all the bad decisions and wrong doing he had done, so he thought that going back to play for Cleveland might make him look better, but everyone could see right through his pathetic attempt. He's not sorry. He only cares about his own image and legacy.

There was a similar thing on the Niners board where people blamed everything on Alex Smith - ironically, it started in the middle of a season Smith wasn't playing where their current QB was losing the game and people said, "Alex Smith fumbled that ball." It evolved to blaming him for the Titanic crashing, 911, etc. in the style of the Most Interesting Man or Chuck Norris comments.
