Red_Alert
^^ Privileged ^^
23 years?
I was close, it runs through 2035.
If I remember correctly the field orientation has changed. The line from home base to CF is SE for TD. For the old stadium, it's NE. Prevailing winds from the south to the north. I looked at the maps on Bing.
RedAlert can probably be more precise.
The Home Run Derby isn't really accurate. Sluggers hitting 'really easy' balls, not the same as game speeds.
You guys hit the two main points. By all appearance it seems the NCAA and Omaha were on separate pages as they both made changes at the same time.
1. Deadened bats (to protect pitchers)
2. Outfield faces south southeast. (balls are hit into the wind)
The bats are the main issue, but the NCAA is not going to come off of that one.
Obviously they aren't going to rebuild a 3 yr old stadium to face it northeast.
If flattening the seams on the ball doesn't do the trick, they'll have to move the fences in.
