I don't see how this shows "how far we have fallen as a society". It is wrong and disgusting to glorify these guys but it was also disgusting to see how Bartman was vilified.

Personally - I think the Dodgers were simply the best team out there - They out played New York, they overcame them with the combination of hits and the pitching.

That being said - while the Dodgers may have pressured them into many of those errors - I think the Yankees could have taken a couple more games and made it at least 4-2 or 4-3

he had a 176 ERA+ in 2022-23 combined. lmao. Of course the problem is being able to throw a full season, but performance ain't the issue.

I do agree about the injuries, at some point you have to worry about your future health. I wouldn't fault him for retiring.

Yeah, it's an interesting case with Kershaw.

He can still give you high level pitching, but he can't really go deep into games anymore. The last time he was close to healthy, he could go 5 good innings...sometimes 6, but anything beyond that, it seemed like he'd run out of gas.

They say "the best ability is availability" and he's been injured a lot over the past few years and of course was unavailable for this years playoffs.

He has a reasonable contract of $5 million per year for the next 2 years...so I'd expect he'll likely retire after that. But we'll see.

I'd like to see them maybe limit his starts some over the next couple of years to try to keep him healthy and maybe have something left for the playoffs.

HGH does tend to make you leaner...Fernando wasn't exactly lean.
