Bet you said that in 2018. And here we are 7 years later in an absolute shit situation (a shituation) that's way worse than 2018 when we actually at least had a top flight goalie in the system.
I think there was more hope back then that there was a quick fix solution. They had G, Jake, TK, Couts, which means they had a legitimate # 1 line. Now we have one top line player, T.K. and one in the making in Michkov. The last 5 years have been horrible and totally mismanaged. There is no longer a quick fix. No matter what the result, I will always watch when I believe I am seeing maximum effort. At some point in the next 2 - 3 years they can try to add some top end talent. Pretty sure this is the first time I am for a rebuild vs. retool. The best a retool can do is bring us back to mediocrity. Bite the bullet for 2 - 3 years and get in the thick of it.

Oh yeah more cheap 3rd line players. That will surely win us the cup.

If they don't fix the top of the roster then the rest of the roster does not matter.
We're not going to just suddenly win the fucking Stanley Cup one year after having missed the playoffs for 10-12 straight seasons. That's just not how it works. You have to add pieces and eventually start dipping your feet into the playoffs, otherwise we'll always have a young squad that never makes it in. We'll be the Arizona Coyotes post-2012.

If there's a free agent out there who can help our power play along and further develop some of the young talent on it, that's not necessarily a bad move. The line he plays on doesn't fucking matter. It's about improving next season in areas where we were awful this season.

Finding a top line center or top pairing defenseman is surely something else we'll attempt to do, but it's easier said than done.

Since you aren't pissed off enough I simulated the lottery for you one time.

For what it's worth, it looks like my hockey fantasy squads are going to finish a combined 36-4 and 1st/2nd overall in their respective leagues. First time I've done this in many years. It was good to get back into it, but there have been a shitload of injuries late in this season. It's difficult to manage, however, the live drafts are a lot of fun and it really plugs you into what's going on around the Nhl.

That and some of the best players in the world are being rested right now for the playoffs. So, for example, Cale Makar was bank all season long and now he's useless in the last couple of games.

Btw, who did the Avalanche fuck in order to get the last four days of the season off!? That just seems like an enormous advantage entering the playoffs, to me. MacKinnon and Makar are gonna be fresh as daisies with literally two weeks rest before game 1.

I figure Mr. Bacon can answer this question...Lol

Firing Tortellini when he did makes Briere look clueless now too. And he was kind of our only hope. What a disaster.

OK now that Foerster has more goals and almost the same exact stats as Tippett do we now have to give him an 8 years deal worth 6.2 million per year?

Dont have a clue, but if their run is deep enough they may get another boost also

The longtime Colorado Avalanche captain Landeskog is on loan to the Eagles as part of a conditioning assignment. He's trying to get up to speed in his bid to possibly join the Avalanche for a playoff run.
