After missing the playoffs for the last 5 years it would be nice if we could make it in next year. If were aren't going to make it in we need to be worst in the league. I think either one of those scenarios would make us all happy.

Trade away those late 1sts and early 2nds to bring in another player.
Offer sheet to a less than $5M player so we don't lose our own 1st.

One FA offensive player.

That should net us at least 3 players to play on the 1st two lines.
Michkov and Konecy make 5.
Maybe Couts makes 6.
Maybe Tippett or Foerster?

3rd line features Cates/Brink or Foerster/Couts or Tipps
4th line is Hathaway/Poehling/whatevers left from 3rd line

In the spots you have vacant is where we should be inserting guys like Luchenko, Bonk etc. We have to see something from these guys sooner or later. Who knows who will thrive, worst comes to worst, if a guy doesn't pan out, doesn't mean he wouldn't be good trade material.

I think a lot will depend on who our new coach is to. Couts is a good guy who you can slide from 3rd line to 2nd if needed. I just want him to be more solid, and I'll admit he looked better this year than last.

Now, Coots only has 40 points in his 74 games and that's just not $7M worthy.

But, he's got 16 points in his last 24 games and is a +5 in those games.
Centering Michkov and Konecny has helped and perhaps he's getting healthier/better hockey shape?

He may never play to the value of that contract, but I'd like to hope he's still got something in the tank and even more to prove.

BREAKING: Ivan Fedotov Named Flyers Nominee for Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

And he will surely play well there. The Phantoms just clinched the playoffs and have four more games to their regular season before that starts. With hot prospect Jett Luchanko now there and newly acquired Nikita Grebenkin becoming a force in Allentown, Lycksell’s addition will be welcomed with wide open arms to solidify a fairly decent forward group down there for the Phantoms.

According to a report, top Philadelphia Flyers goalie prospect Egor Zavragin will be demoted from SKA St. Petersburg to SKA-Neva St. Petersburg to finish the 2024-25 season.

Again, we are left wondering, where has this goal scoring and production been all season long!?

All in the last 5 games since the departure of Torts:

Foerster with 6 goals.

Michkov with 4 goals.

Couturier with 3 goals.

Konecny with 7 assists.

Brink with 5 assists.

Poehling with 8 points.

Pelletier with 4 points.

Regardless of where this will leave us in the draft lottery, an 8-5 win over the NYR that essentially eliminates them from the playoffs feels really good.

The Flyers should go 0-81 the next five years so they can dominate the league for the next 15 years.

All these leagues only care about their star players. Without any you are totally fucked in the winter sports.
