I AM SICK OF THIS SHIT

The Flyers should go 0-81 the next five years so they can dominate the league for the next 15 years.

All these leagues only care about their star players. Without any you are totally fucked in the winter sports.
It's not that easy anymore, unfortunately. Nobody can really do what the Pens did 20 years ago because the draft lottery has changed.

Not drafting Zeev Buium is looking worse and worse by the day though. Idk wtf we were doing with that pick.

I'm not sure what 0-81 would get us. We play 410 games in the next 5 seasons...Lol

Hopefully we do lose out to end this season though. There's not much to gain in these last 4 games.

It's fucked up that there's no way to get competitive.

I think Danny B has to show some balls this summer in order to make the team more competitive asap. Any picks we make in the upcoming draft potentially aren't going to truly help the big squad for awhile. Kids like Foerster, Brink, Pelletier, Drysdale, Andrae, York and Kolosov either need to take the next step or move on. In order for them to do that, they may need some assistance via the right coaches and a couple of established Nhl players.

I assume they will bring in a coach who is much more forgiving, instills confidence in younger players and allows them the freedom to let it fly and make occasional mistakes. A guy who doesn't bench players all of the time either might be nice.

The power play absolutely has to get much better. 14.8% is horrific when 66% of the league is operating at over 20%. Only Anaheim and NYI have been worse.

For me, making the playoffs is the next step, not tanking. If we're being real, tanking doesn't assure you of anything these days. Well, it means you suck, that's about it.

Free agents always suck here. That's not a plan to find to players. The only way to get top players is to draft them at the top of the draft.

If we make the playoffs next year then we will never win the cup. They don't have a 1st line on defense. They don't have a first line on offense. And they don't have a goalie.

Our FA signings have been horrible because they take a 2nd/3rd line guy, see Kevin Hayes, and pay him 1st line $$$$. Players no longer wanting to be here and no cap flexibility has been a killer. They paid Hayes over $7,000,000/year because they did not have space to sign a first line guy for $10,000,000. This year Hayes, Atkinson and DeAngelo took up $8,000,000 to not play here (Atkinson was not a FA signing but an example of cap mismanagement). Peterson and Ellis counted for another burned $10,000,000. The only way this team can get better is to start drafting well, hold off on overpaying mediocre FAs, and don't waste the dead money that comes off the books. Peterson and DeAngelo, $5.5 mill comes off next year, Atkinson and Hayes, $5.9 mill the next year and the Ellis $6.25 the year after. They already have 18 players under contract next year and 4 RFA's, with at lease three who be signed. They should not sign anyone next year and let the young guys fill the roster spot or two that open.

That's fine, but these kids need to produce more like they have in the last 5 games than they did the rest of the season. Clearly their confidence is fragile and that's a powerful thing. Time to grow up next season.

I agree with that. I just don't want anymore overspending on mediocre FA's and giving NTC or NMC's and then eating half the salary later. I would stay away from all FAs next year and probably the year after that. Hard to believe its been a 5 year playoff drought, but there is no quick fix for this team. Play hard every night, draft well and open some cap space and they will be back into the thick of it.

Free agent 2026 Connor McDavid, he's pretty good. Maybe we take a shot an offer him a couple of bucks. Maybe he would give us a discount out of pity and would like to help bring us back to a prominent franchise.

Sounds like Danny B and the FO continue to "wing-it" instead of having the abilities to manage their cap money all the while getting the players to fill in the galring holes we have in the draft. Briere has to stop selecting just the dumbest players with premium picks like he did last year in the First Round. I am still scratching my head at that draft.

You could tell they aren't the best as far as drafting when Danny B drafted a goalie in the third and 4th rounds of his first draft. Then not drafting Buium and only trading that pick to move 1 spot down. Those werent the best draft days in the world.

Still may be too early to start spending but Martin Necas is another guy that may become available in 2026. That could, however, fit into an overspend as well.

Obviously we don't want that, but if we can find another guy like a Poehling, for example, that would be a solid move. He's an inexpensive player that's still in his mid 20's and very effective, especially as of late. I think you could argue that he's underpaid ($1.9M) given his speed and what he's accomplished lately. The dude has 14 points in his last 12 games. That's insane production for a 3rd line player.

If we can find a big guy that can wreak havoc in front of the opposing net on our power plays, I'm all for signing him, but yes, while also not overpaying or offering silly no-trade clauses. We could use another piece on our top unit that won't break the bank. A guy that can screen the goalie, get deflections and has decent hands in tight. We really don't have anyone who does that well right now. If we did, perhaps our power play wouldn't be so fucking awful.

In case anyone will want to record or watch Saturday night at 7:30pm:

2 of our prospects one on each team will be playing to the NCAA hockey title.

Alex Bump of Western Michigan will take on Devin Kaplan and Boston University.

Bet you said that in 2018. And here we are 7 years later in an absolute shit situation (a shituation) that's way worse than 2018 when we actually at least had a top flight goalie in the system.

Oh yeah more cheap 3rd line players. That will surely win us the cup.

If they don't fix the top of the roster then the rest of the roster does not matter.
