Besides TK and Michkov, Is there anybody else on this current roster you'd keep? Maybe Brink and Seeler.

Bit harsh. Quite a few guys I don’t mind having on the roster every night, just, towards the bottom of the TOI list not the top.

Well, look at this. The Preds and Sabres both won tonight. Meanwhile, we're literally the worst team in the Nhl right now...Lol

Yikes.

Sabres and Preds both win though!
I keep saying it's going to happen and it truly is. Those teams are still winning some games. We've lost 11 of 12 and are starting to get throttled.

Not only did Buffalo and Nashville win, they beat two playoff teams.

Yes but they are far and few between, and that's the big void that needs to be filled IMO. To many guys on this roster with bottom tier potential.

9 games remaining, and while the schedule gets easier, I don't necessarily think our losing will stop. We're not playing to win games at all anymore. York made a soft play early in the game last night that directly led to a goal against and was benched for the remainder. He only played 3:50, which really forced our other young defensemen to get over-extended. Guys like Drysdale, Andrae and Zamula were exposed repeatedly. Idk if they got tired or just lacked the strength or sense of urgency to compete, but they often looked like boys amongst men.

Midway through the 2nd period there was a play where I believe Abols took the puck just inside their zone, essentially tried to go 1 on 4, and was swarmed upon as both of our D went for a change. It led to an easy breakaway goal by the Leafs. It's one of the worst sequences I've seen all season long...Lol

This team is not focused at all. There are only a few guys who are doing anything right. I would say Konecny, Couturier, Cates, Poehling, Seeler and sometimes Michkov is about it.

I get it that there is very little incentive to win right now, but minus Laughton, Hathaway and Risto, we sort of ripped the guts out of this squad and now they are very much lost. We need some growth and reinforcements or next year could be really bad.

That said, it's way too early to give up on all of these youngsters. A handful of them have yet to even turn 24.

Still can only get to 3rd worst and not 1st.
Eh, 3rd or 4th worst is roughly a 10% chance.

I would certainly package #4, a last 1st, and an early 2nd to move up.
Not sure we would find a willing dance partner, but we do have the assets to attempt it.

Cates could be a nice 3rd line defensive center.

We need at least 2-3 players for top 2 lines and 1 top D and 1 2nd line D.
I agree on Cates, over looked him, but I'd love to see just a little more consistency from him versus streaky.

And a goalie.
Hard to judge a goalie without having those top D men.

Right now, we have at least two good goalie prospects, so I don't think we need to spend assets to get a goalie and would rather seem them use those assets to acquire better D men.

Yep. IMO, the Flyers would be in an alright spot with..

New - New - Konecny
New - New - Michkov
Brink - Cates - Tippett
Hathaway - Couturier - Poehling

New - New
York - Sanheim
Seeler - Drysdale (Risto over him, but I'm assuming he's not in the long term plan)

New
Ersson

Obvioulsy a lot of holes there. And you could of course mix/match a little bit, maybe Couturier is your 3C instead and Cates moves to the wing, move Poehling to 4C and move Brink since he's not a traditional 4th line guy. Maybe York or Sanheim moves to the top pair depending on who you bring in. But the summary is, they have worthwhile players, they just don't have the top of the lineup sorted out. The result is not good.

Nice assessment.

It's also possible Michkov and Konecny play on a line together with a good 1C (even having same handed wingers).
Also, Tippett might thrive on a line with talent around him, so he might be a 2nd line player.

But, yeah, 2C, 2W, and 2D.

Tippett is another one who has flashes but can't string it together for more than a few games. Lack of talent around him maybe, but He wasn't thriving before he came here either.
