Most likely closer to the record after tonight's game.
With all due respect, fucking OV scores more easy goals than anyone I've ever seen, by a lot. He leads the Nhl in empty-netters with 65 all-time and on his goal tonight, he hit a wide open cage with a shot going about 20 mph. He sits in the same spot on the power play and barely ever moves, often for the entire two minutes. If the puck ever gets to him, he's often wide open with a great chance to score via a one-timer.

Another expected loss to the Caps. It's nice to see a response, a goal from Poehling and another from Couturier, but we really need Konecny to get back on track. While it's annoying to give up another goal to OV and have them clinch a playoff spot against us, there's not much we can do about it right now. I'm rather amazed that they're leading the Nhl in points with 39 year old OV. Logan Thompson is 30-4-5 in net. Are you kidding me!?! Lol

Anaheim pulls further ahead of us in the standings. Otherwise, we remain 5th in the draft lottery, with all of the other bad teams also losing. only 12 games left in the season. The ones against teams like Chicago, Nashville, Buffalo, New York and Columbus should be interesting because those teams are all losing too. Someone has to win those games...Lol Do we win a few of those or do we slide to 3rd or 4th in the draft lottery?

Shitsburgh routs Columbus 6-3. Apparently they still think they can make the playoffs, even though they have 6 teams to pass, are 6 points back and have played an few extra games, too.

Had to hold my breath for a minute as I passed by the Pens practice facility this morning.

Wish we could get us one of these guys.

This afternoon should be interesting. We have lost 4 straight and 9 of 10. The Hawks have lost 7 straight and 13 of 16.

Someone has to win this game...Lol

Btw, how in the fuck do you win the opening faceoff of overtime and lose the game 9 seconds in!?! Rofl That was absolutely absurd yesterday!!

Good question, Maverick. My answer: You have one of the worst hockey teams on the planet and you don't know how to do much other than figure out ways to lose hockey games even when you are winning!!

Which also bears the question, how much effort is being asked in these last games?

I'm sure Torts is asking a lot of them. And I'm sure they want to win, but it's only human nature for that desire to win to drop down to the same level as wanting to win a pickup game at the neighborhood rink at this point. A couple 'nah i'm not blocking that shot and feeling that bruise' or 'i'm gassed i'm not chasing that puck down' decisions turns a competitive NHL game into a laugher.

Unless something drastically changes we are stuck with both of these goalies for another season. :mad2:

Should help the McKenna odds! Gets them a year closer to Zavragin and Bjarnsson too.

I'm guessing Kolosov goes back to the KHL, they send Fedotov down to the AHL, and sign a tandem level goalie in free agency to play with Ersson next year. Allen, Georgiev, Vanecek, Andersen, Forsberg, Samsonov, Lyon all free agents and could make sense on a 1 year deal. Won't send a very good message to the "culture" to not do something about the goaltending this summer. But I wouldn't do anything dramatic. Zavragin is a really solid G prospect right now and his timeline might work out for the Flyers. Plus goalies are voodoo. I wouldn't put too many resources to it until they have a good team to play behind. Blackwood/Wedgewood were journeymen goalies and all of a sudden they're dominant (.918/.917) with Colorado.

Wouldn't be surprised if they use one of their 7 picks in the first 2 rounds this summer on a goalie though. Sounds like there are quite a few good ones starting in the back half of the first round. Not totally opposed to that given the 7 picks, but wouldn't use one of the 1sts on one.

I'm not expecting our three 1sts and three 2nds to contribute next season.
We are two seasons away from having a lot of money come off the books, so it was always 2027 for me to start contending.
Two season away from Zavragin potentially coming over.

Michkov becomes the first Flyer since Renberg to put up 50 points in their rookie seasons.

That's the trick.

Always ask for max effort from your players.

Shutting Risto down was a sneaky tank move which :
1) diminishes their overall defense; which hurts goalies
2) gives more playing time to younger D-men like Zamula and Andrae to see what they can do

Moving talented players like Tippett to the 4th line might hurt their confidence, but they should always be asked to play hard.
