What an obsession with the .500 mark this team has. Perhaps the tank job has been and will continue to be a quiet one.

It's just frustrating to go into NY and lose a couple games against bitter rivals after a really solid two week stretch of hockey.

It's not over yet, for me. The Rangers were on life support just 3 weeks ago and now they are scorching hot, with Shesterkin back too. The Islanders were sitting and waiting for us with plenty of rest, revenge on their minds and a goalie that absolutely has our number (Sorokin).

However, I think if we fail to win at least 2 of the next 3 games, we can all pack it in and go home. It's a home and home with NJ and a rubber match against the Isles.

I feel like the remaining schedule is just too difficult to make up any significant amount of points or leapfrog several teams in the standings to make the top 3 in the division or beat out a bunch of decent teams for a wild card spot.

And so, we will probably lose 2 of 3, but get 4 points, which will technically still keep us in the race...Lol

We take too many fucking games to overtime. I feel like that's really taxing on the squad, mentally and physically. 15 of these such games. I am pretty sure that leads the league.

Bottom line: We have 13 regulation wins. Only San Jose has less (10) and they are the worst team in the Nhl, 16 points behind us...Lol

We can't get enough consistent, secondary scoring. We can't hold onto leads. We're terrible in the 2nd period and on special teams. Ersson is decent in net, but can't stay healthy or in a rhythm. Beyond him, there's nothing truly reliable. It's all a surprising regression from this time last season, especially considering the addition of Michkov.

For context, we were 25-19-6 at this point last season, and that's after a 5 game losing streak. That's +6 points ahead of now and we won our next 4.

I agree with ya Maverick. The bolded sentence is the key. We simply do not get enough Offense AND Defense to get ahead and stay there in games.

Which just proves we are still at ways away from competing. This off season will really tell a huge tale for us, we have a lot of picks and we could gain some serious value if Danny B and Jonesy choose wisely!

Yep. This summer (plus now to the deadline i guess) will define Briere and probably Jones' tenure in the Flyers front office. IMO they need to find at least 2 top of the lineup players. They won't have a better opportunity to do it than this summer.
