I wonder if Tippett had some heart he'd be a top tier player?
So funny i was thinking the same thing last night. Sometimes he plays with reckless abandon and is all over the ice and looks like a top tier player and then sometimes he just glides around and then when he gets the puck just races up the ice in a straight line only to do nothing with it. I wish he would just become a superstar already.

Here is a dilemma that you guys can vote on:

A: Keep Cates and resign him
B: Trade Cates at the deadline
C: Keep Scott Laughton
D: Trade Scott Laughton at the deadline
E: Keep Both
F: Keep one or the other
G: Get rid of both at the deadline.

Cates RFA after this season
Laughton 3 million for this and next season.

Re-sign Cates. Shouldn't break the bank, bottom of the lineup guy and he's an RFA this summer. Hopefully they can get him for like 2M for 3 years. Laughton I've come around on keeping him this season unless someone gives a 1st or a legit prospect up for him. Can still move him next year as a rental at the deadline, so not losing the opportunity to get value for him, and he is a good example for the young guys to look up to.

So, probably keep both for me. Unless someone gives you an offer you can't refuse for Laughton. Same could be said for Cates too I guess, but I doubt anyone would give up enough for Cates to make it worth it.

Yep exactly, and his lazy play and lack of any physicality lead to a dumb hooking call. You don't have to be a huge guy to check someone off the puck physically, guys are to talented to be sticked checked these days. It's a lazy play.

Re sign Cates, definitely look at offers for Laughton, wether this season or next I dont see him here after that. Hopefully we start replacing spots with up and coming young talent.

Well is today revenge day or do we take another L whilst licking our nuts? How many more loses before we call it a season and start assessing some younger talent heading into the draft?

We are within 2 points of the final playoff spot and there is a lot of hockey to be played. We will go on a run then come back to the pack 3 or 4 more times before the season is over. Fighting for qa playoff spot right down to the last week.

Remember Berube was getting blamed for us sucking and then we fire him and he wins the cup with the blues the next year.

Now hes back again with the Leafs with a top team in the league.

It has never been the coaches we fired and has always been the players and will always continue to be the players.

Leafs adding Ryan reaves to their line up tonight is hysterical. Who is he gonna fight Bobby brink? :pound::pound:
