Oregon lands Texas LBer

1235751.jpg

Chose Oregon over Zona, ASU, Oky light, LSU, Missouri. Came down to Oregon and Oklahoma.

Oregon landed the DE/LB

Good pickup.

Facilities paying off. Visited Oregon early September and Oklahoma in October. Choice was easy at that point.

Former USC commit 4* LB DJ Calhoun committed to ASU yesterday. That all but guarantees Michael Lazarus, another 4* LB will commit as the two are basically a package.

Lazarus Not a 4 star on espn. I want to know which is the best recruiting site when it comes to stars. ESPN, Rivals, or Scout?

It's all subjective. Offers are more important anyway. I mostly look at Scout.

Dont care if they are 3 or 4. Usually their isnt a ton of difference.

The kid could be great or a bust.

Just have to evaluate the player as best you can with the info the sights provide and wait to see them play.

5 stars are usually cant miss. But they are rare.

Burfict was really rare in college.............. I still don't know if Shaq Thompson was worth 5 stars.

Ducks had Ngata at 5 stars, Tyner at 5 stars, DeAnthony.... All I can think of. Probably more. Oly would know for sure.

Had some fantastic 3 star players.

It has a ton to do with who is coaching these kids, and fortunately you are a fan of a guy that gets the best out of 2 , 3, 4, and 5 star players.

Erickson would get 3 star athletes from Centennial with 4.4-4.6 speed. All were former gang members and all of em were raw football players. We had more speed than Oregon at one time!

We had two 5* recruits in the 2009 class. Corey Adams didn't do much and Burfict hurt more than he helped in 2011. I'll take 2* Kelly, 3* Sutton and Bradford who was recruited as a fullback over either of them.

Funny to think that our starting QB was a 2-star, our 2nd string QB was a 3-star, and our 3rd string QB was a 4-star.. Rankings matter, but at the end of the day it's hard to predict the success of a high school kid.

Kelly won it like how Jake the Snake won it back in the day. Came from bottom of the depth chart! :suds:
