Im sure that basketball season will hit UW fans when it comes. They do have very good crowds for basketball...........

Im still not getting how UCLA fans think they have a chance on Saturday. It will be nice to be winning the south for a week. :suds:

We're in 1st place right now. As long as we take care of business it'll be that way until we go to Pasadena where the south will be decided.

Good one newbie. If you were able to watch Wooden coach and UCLA win titles then you must be a senior citizen on life support. Fact is UCLA has done nothing to proclaim superiority over UofA in the last 30 years.

Hey AZ, thanks for the kind words but I am still a successful working stiff who is not on life support. If it makes you feel better to proclaim superiority over UCLA for the last thirty years, go right ahead. But ever time you care to look up past NCAA Champions in the roundball you will still see U of A with only one entry and UCLA with 11. Ummm, btw didn't UCLA win last years PAC-12 regular conference ?

Assuming you lose on Saturday as long as we don't lose more than 1 game before we play you we'll continue to be in first. Our game has decided the south two years in a row and I don't think that changes this year. Even after our collapse in 2011 if our kicker made the field goal we'd have gotten the honor of getting crused by Oregon instead of you
Last year we were supposed to finish 11th in the conference so I consider even being in the discussion of winning the south halfway through the season a success.

Uclas oline was exposed last game. ASUs defense will be good for the rest of the season, we dont have to play 4 teams with top 5 olines anymore. I am confident in our defense for the rest of the season. BRING ON UCLA!

Yeah and how did that work out for you guys in the dance?

Its common knowledge that the modern day team to beat in Pac 12 basketball is Arizona. Just like Oregon is in football.

I'm sure you are right, AZ-DBacks. Most of us are like football fans at Oregon before Uncle Phil. Look at them now.

Season tix when I was 20. 17 years ago. Followed them since I could walk man.

In all honesty I think you guys have a pretty decent shot at winning the South this year, I hope it's us instead however you've got a pretty decent team and I'm glad this one (Just like two years ago) is in Pasadena!

We know where to find the basketball PAC thread when the time comes.

But thanks. I think most of us are %100 focused on football right now.

Thinking of Basketball now is very depressing. And I am not kidding, it makes me depressed.

Yea it kind of hits you. I followed ASU football in the off season, but I didn't start to get real pumped until a few days before the Sac State game. Basketball will hit us, will be over there when it starts AzDbacks just comment so the thread doesn't die.

Dont remind us about that game. Erickson was to old to run and get a timeout. :laugh3: we could of had Brock throw another ball and got us inside the 20 with the way your secondary was playing on that drive. That was the year of the kicker, so many kickers fucked up the season, Oklahoma State kicker missing a chippy vs Iowa State, Stanford kicker in Fiesta Bowl, Garoutte blowing dick, and Utahs kicker also missing a chippy which would of won the south.

I hear ya brother, I have my calendar marked for Jan. 16th for good reason! However to garner some interest you might try a sprinkling rather than the heavy saute you have a brewing.

People come here to read pages of PAC12 Football & some other CFB talk as well.

Let's not disappoint!

Roy you gotta remember not all schools have as many (all sport) championships as the California trio of UCLA, Stanford and USC. Heck those three schools have more championships than many conferences, and carry the PAC on their back as the conference of champions. Often, fans only focus on the championships in revenue generating sports.

That said, I listen to U of A students talk about how it is a great basketball school day in and day out. Every fan base needs something to hold up and say "look at us, we are winners". Some schools just have more of those to hold up than others, and hence do not crow quite so loud (cough. 19 straight directors cups. cough).

I did think this was a football thread though.

Cool. You and the other 2 Stanford fans in the world can be proud of winning championships in chess.

The only reason anyone hates on U of A is because we are the Oregon of Pac 12 basketball.

I responded to part of this in another way. USC UCLA and Stanford account for over 300 of the 460+ NC in the PAC. Chess is not a NCAA sport, but the titles in men's and women's swimming, diving, basketball, golf, baseball (may P12 teams have those) softball (U of A should be proud of that stat) etc. I never dissed your team, I work at your University, and have for 15 years. But one NC in BBall is not all you should be proud of, and, to focus on that, is, at best, myopic.
