What I'm saying is your scenario that "fixes" the situation, doesn't. Your fix still leaves room for a team to say if the game was played it would be different.

More importantly, I'm saying none of those issues or concerns should even exist right now. Follow the existing rules and common sense. That's all they need to do. The game was cancelled so just use the standings after week 18. There is zero need for a coin toss or anything else and there is no need to hope certain teams win or lose. Wining percentage is the tiebreaker just like it has been for a hundred years. In this case the number of games played may be different, but that was always the case if there was a tie in the standings also. Just use the standings. It's simple.

But only between the Bengals and Bills...no one else. The two teams lacking the 17th game. They are the only teams with room for what IF scenarios if this occurs. Everyone else is cleaned up and nothing affects them on these special rules. And since the Bengals and Bills are equal in these what IF's, does it matter if these two teams are questioning it, the only two teams that didn't finish the season with 17 games?

I don’t. The Chargers are poorly coached and they’re a second tier team. They put up a nice win total but when it comes time to play the elite they can’t close the deal. The AFC is a three horse race between the Chiefs Bills and Bengals. One of those teams could get upset before facing one another but I will assure you one of those three teams represents the AFC in the Super Bowl.

The Bills aren't the same defense without Von Miller and Micah Hyde. I think the Chiefs are going to notice the absence of Hill in a big spot.

I got obsessed with Football in the 90s when it was the Niners, Cowboys or Packers and the rest of the field was irrelevant. These "super teams" no longer exsist.

Bengals are having a very good season, especially down the stretch. And it looked like they were going to score almost at will against the Bills on Monday night. They’ve definitely shown they are a worthy AFC competitor for getting to SB, for the second time in a row.

The NFL decision did not favor the Bengals, actually made it harder, but maybe it will spark them to win out and reach AFCCG after their demonstration of fair play, decent attitude, and solidarity with the Bills player.

Putting aside all the SportsHoopla, this is looking like a good show in AFC teams’s run for the Super Bowl.

I do think Cinci is most likely to get hosed but they've fought their way out of worse. Chiefs still have to line up and play the Raiders who almost beat the Niners last week. Bills dont have Von Miller and who knows what the emotional state of that team is right now. Ravens and Chargers have had to deal with injuries all season.

If they can't get it back it's nobody's fault but their own, but lesser distractions have sunk good teams in the past.

Yes it definitely shifted the momentum, but IMO they need to, and can, get the focus back.

None of this was Bengals fault. The injured player -very glad Daman is recovering- tried a hard tackle/hit and he got the worst of it.

No one is really overly praising the Bengals for doing the right thing. It was the right thing. You don't get a cookie for doing the right thing. But the NFL is changing a rule that needs no change unless they are trying to make a statement with the change. Disagree? Fine. But, then I ask you - why change the rule? It's already in place, and lays out exactly how this should have been handled. Because, they want games finished at all cost. That's not a pat on the back for the teams that do the right thing - it's a slap in the face.

That’s not true. There have been a dozen posts on this board this week from Bengals fans acting like the Bengals organization are solely responsible for the game not continuing the other night.

Why change the rule? Because in light of two teams in the top 3 of the AFC having one fewer game it impacts the ability to use win percentage as a fair determinant.

Here’s the nuance. You think it negatively impacts the Bengals so that determines your stance. Instead of lamenting losing to Mitch Trubinsky and Cooper Rush, you guys are playing the sad violin. There was no perfect way to fix this. This fix is much better than leaving it to the win percentages.

Doesn't fix the game that never occurred on Monday night. Only way to cure that is to replay it, the only way to replay at this point is in the playoffs with the Bengals getting home field. Only the Bengals and Bills are going to be judged equally as they are both lacking a game.

Were there any lost contract performance bonuses for either team? I'd be pissed if a cancelled game cost me that.

Any word on fans getting a refund? Because I'd want one.
