I read Vinny was skating 4 days per week in the off season and also working with a strength and conditioning coach. He has the skill to get back to 20. In the beginning I can see 4th line and 2nd PP.

I think Gagner and Giroux could be a great duo. Maybe not quite as good as Giroux and Voracek, but I'm really feeling a break out year for Gagner. I have nothing concrete to base that on, 100% gut feeling. Also, I think Voracek can carry a line by himself. He's a force. I don't think he needs Giroux on his line to produce. Give him Vinny as a finisher and Raffl as a grinder and I think they could flourish.

I also think if Schenn can keep up his play from very late last season and Read can rebound from a tough year, the 3rd line could challenge for '2nd line' minutes. I think Couturier rises to the occasion too, because...

I think a VV, Bellemare, Laughton, White quartet can rotate as the 4th line and be the 'shut down' line. They can wear teams out with their skating and physicality. That takes a lot of the defensive pressure off Couturier and Read.

Then you have G.Jake.Schenn.Simmonds.Streit and PP1. Pretty much guaranteed success. And Gagner.Couturier.Lecavalier.Raffl.MDZ as PP2, and they could have some pop.

I'm feeling super optimistic today gang. I'm so ready for the season to start.
