Karma like that almost makes you wish he hit a trifecta with a long shot wheeled in.

Man, the board is dead today.

Everyone must be conspiring against me in order to add to my boredom here at work today...

That's the spirit! Misery loves company, but success leads to lonliness.

It did my heart good to watch the Buffalo Bills defense this week.

Near the end of the game, when the Bills needed a stop, I watched as they got an offsides penalty, then after a big sack, a player gets a stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to negate the sack.

It'll follow Gym Shorts wherever he goes.

So the Broncos released Brandon McManus, our very own Matt Prater's replacement in Denver earlier this season.

Haha Denver.

In all honesty I'd sign him to the practice squad. It can't hurt to have a back-up kicker in case Prater gets injured or has a beer or something. Plus McManus is supposed to have the strongest leg in the league. They upped the practice squad by two spots this year, seems like it wouldn't be that bad of an idea to be developing a back-up kicker, given how much we've learned about the importance of the position since Hanson retired.

Most of the best kickers, historically, were cut at least once, some several times, before latching on and taking off. Rarely is a kicker great right out of the gates. Developing a promising one on the practice squad for up to three seasons would give a team a lot of insurance and negotiating leverage at the position. For me it makes sense, now that we can have ten players on the practice squad, to have a back-up kicker. I'm surprised more teams don't.

Shit, for that matter I'd be happy with adding Freese to the practice squad. He had promise, but his head wasn't in it out there on the field with the bright lights on. Let him practice with our coaches, and train with our training staff all year, rather than work out on his own, so that if something happens to Prater we have a ready substitute, rather than a street free agent.

That's right, I really am debating with myself here about the merits of a hypothetical back-up kicker.

Only on the Lions board... :L

I would sign mcmanus as well. Prater has shown at best, that no one should trust him.

Freese is done.

You're also losing the debate... And winning it.

I'm fine with Prater as our kicker, he seems to be settling back into a groove. I just like the idea of having a back-up for the position...
