I think we are going to have to rate our prospects and unfortunately not wll
Will get their shot immediately at the MLB level

Like the Dodgers approach they just have to blow it out at the AAA level to get moved up. But yeah once moved up they need to play regularly, be given some patience and eventually produce

They need to template the way Leody was handled and do that for other players. They have not done it for Huff and really not Smith. But they might be doing it for Duran
What do you mean?

Hate to think this but it might be best for us to lose so:
1 We move guys
2 Woody is relieved of his services
3 Young guys needing a look see and or experience get to get it
Bingo! That could mean the difference in doing decent to well over the next few years and building a great team.

Apparently someone has very little interest in Huff. He is really being delt a bad hand. Why not send him down AAA and get more time at AB and at the same time make room for Duran. He has been blocked at every turn.

we need to fire Woody and bring a manager who understands that when we bring up a prospect to the team that someone needs to be immediately benched and that prospect needs to play every day. Woody should have benched either Lowe or Heim and put them at the end of the bench

First Heim and Lowe aren't vets and are still coming into their own. Why should their opportunity be thwarted because we want to see a couple other guys. They have been the most consistent hitters all season (Seager has a string of recent HR's but that has been all he has hit, for the most part) and they should be rewarded with playing time. Lowe may be a DH and fill in 1B (defensively not good) but he deserves AB's. Yes send Calhoun, Culberson and Miller to some team, that will use them for what they are or trade Heim or Huff and Lowe. DFA Duggar and bring up Duran. These are all easy calls for us that have zero skin in the game.

There is where the problem comes in

Woodward is not a ML manager but he is the manager of the Texas Ranger's and he does want, by his own right to keep his job and therefore he's going to make the calls, that he thinks helps him to do that, by winning games. (He's not doing a good job at it) No manager is gonna play all the young guys and win 58 games and hope the FO keeps him around because he is doing what the fans want in a rebuild. If this team wins 58 games everyone will bitch about their record. Managing a team in such limbo is tough. The FO needs to hire a real manager and let him make the right calls for the organization and not the veterans and lose as many games as need be and let Woodward go be a 3B/bench coach elsewhere.

and that's the conundrum

Calhoun is not doing himself any good as being trade material and Culberson & even Miller are not someone that any team would look at at the trade deadline unless the Rangers DFA'ed them

They are all tradable just aren't bringing anything back but if not cut them. Miller haas another year though, so that could be an issue

They are all valuable to a team in a rebuild same as have been for the Rangers.

The FO has got to be making some serious moves. It is getting crowded and somebody has to go if we are to play all our prospects full time.

Wish they did a 1 year deal for Brad Miller..
Calhoun and Culberson should definitely be traded by August 2nd. Probably as a complimentary piece in a larger trade.
My guess is Duran will patrolling the outfield in Arlington come August 3rd

Finishing a game from 2 weeks ago but starting fresh on a different day. Nothing like these sites and Adam Morris plucking their choice stats.....lol

i agree with you but some on this board would rather see both Heim and Lowe DFA'ed, traded etc because it interferes with their plan

I get the feeling that having one guy pitch even half a game is a pretty good accomplishment at that level. Lol

all is possible, i just don't see the FO taking that path. Woody goes with what he has, and the job of every ML manager is to do everything he can to win now. and it's with all the players on the roster. i doubt they and the Owners would be happy if he put certain players on the bench and simply played the young guys so he plays them all even if one or more of the young guys ends up sitting on the bench 2 or 3 days a week/ now that would really piss off some on here

There is nothing forcing them to keep Miller though.

Anyone interested in a trade for Juan Soto ?
And then an extension ?

To not be interested would be nuts but the cost is what is always the most important. In terms of both prospects going the other way and then the AAV on the new contract will be astronomical
