When the Clippers moved to L.A. from San Diego, it was right around the time that the Honda Center was being built. The City of Anaheim all but begged the Clippers to move to the Honda Center. They wanted a sports area that would have included, at the least, the Angels, Ducks and Clippers (Angel Stadium is literally easy walking distance from the Honda Center). It was also hoped that the Clippers moving and creating a sports center would entice the Rams to stay as well.

The Clippers chose to play in the rundown L.A. Sports Arena. For several years, the Clippers played a few home games at the Honda Center and attendance at those games always far exceeded those at the Sports Arena.
Clippers moved in '84, Honda Center opened in '93. Not that close. Though the Clippers should have moved when it opened, or after they saw how successful playing a few games a year there was.

Now they should just work a deal to trade the Chargers for the Clippers.

The LA Clippers are going to win the NBA Championship.

Yes, those LA Clippers.

In other news, the Earth is flat.

True. However, the planning for the Honda Center started several years before it was actually built. Anaheim started trying to convince the Clippers to play there when it was still in the planning stages which began shortly after the Clippers moved to the Sports Arena.

Doc is the only coach to blow 3-1 leads twice.....

Something like 0-4 in road playoff games 7 as well, but he says Ubuntu so that makes him a great coach. At this point on the court, he hasn't really done anything more than VDN. As GM, he has assembled a top-heavy, no-depth team. This team needs a lot of work but have little money to improve. They have $54.2 mil committed to 5 players (CP3, Blake, Redick, Hawes, and Wilcox). Good luck Glenn.

DOC the GM has proven to be a failure in LA.

It only gets worse if Jordan leaves and they are still stuck in salary cap hell with an aging roster.

The jury is still debating what DOC the coach has done in LA.

Well, he's gotten them as far in the playoffs as Vinny Del *****. So, there's that.

I've never been sold on Doc as a coach. Danny Ainge worked miracles to get him that 2008 roster in Boston. I feel you could've put a lot of competent coaches in that situation and they would've had similar success. The Clips' blunders are all on Doc. He's the GM and put the roster together. The Clips have the worse bench in the league outside of Jamal Crawford.

Doc should really just excuse himself as the GM. The only thing that's worked out for him is getting JJ Redick. That's it. Everything else has been a disaster. He gave up Jared Dudley (a useful bench player) and a 1st round pick in a straight salary dump so he could sign Hawes (who buried on the bench) and Jordan Farmar, who he cut 2 months into the season. That's unbelievably terrible.

Man - am I glad that natural order to the universe has been reset to order. The Clippers on their way to a championship was really frying my brains. But the Clippers went out their and did what the Clippers have always done best and Clippered Out:pound::pound:

That the Clippers suffered an epic collapse for the ages is 100% on Doc.

The shine of all those Lakers banners would certainly obscure a solitary Clippers one. There would be no need to cover it up with a Swaggy selfie.
They should get a sign that points to their one and then say look they have one to our 16 - lol

With Donald Sterling owning them for so many years, Karma won't smile on them until after the end of the world. Plus, Chris Paul is on the decline, while Blake and DeAndre are overrated. I don't see them making it to the Finals in the stacked West.
