Ah. I'm not of the opinion that they are in a "win-now" mode, more of a "win sooner-than-expected" mode.

They seem to be off to a good start to putting us back on the track anyway be it now or sooner. Got to like it.

What they have done so far points toward both destinations. Once they keep going down the road a little longer we will know which fork in the road they take. I hope you are right.

Without pitching ready, I just can’t see us being in a serious win now mode to the extent we trade prospects for vets

and there's the main issue right now: we have Jon Gray, Taylor Hearn pretty much locked in starting roles and that's basically it. we have AJ Alexy, Allard, Howard & Otto as the closest to being ready to start in 2022 after that the rest are a ways away. we either write off the season starting pitcher-wise or we make a move and sign at least 1 maybe 2 FA's.
