Texas Rangers 2021 - 2022 Offseason Thread

Slow development is one thing. Regressing is another thing.

So you think he has regressed, in what way.?
Guess there has been some defensive regression due to injury and not sure regression but non development in a big way with his swing and miss.

What am I missing? I do t think he had the benefit of development in a rebuild year as I wish a lot of guys needed

His average dropped 32 points from 2019 to 2021. Maybe that was injury related, but for now he appears to have regressed as a hitter. Hopefully, he has a comeback in 2022.

No worries, I assumed it was an honest oversight

Honestly I'd like another FA like Kershaw, even knowing he's going to miss some games, b/c it just gives young guys opportunities while providing us 20-25 quality starts in our rotation by Kershaw

Then you just cycle in the young guys based on pre-determined workload and injury issues, and maybe we get a couple surprises this year as well

Honestly I'd like another FA like Kershaw, even knowing he's going to miss some games, b/c it just gives young guys opportunities while providing us 20-25 quality starts in our rotation by Kershaw

Then you just cycle in the young guys based on pre-determined workload and injury issues, and maybe we get a couple surprises this year as well

i basically agree about another FA starter and/or a trade for a good starter. hell i would even consider a couple FA relievers

This one is a special in person trip. But from what I read the owners can easily play chicken with players to,see if they will cave.

Kind of wish there was a fan rep to let them know if they mess with the sport they could be a huge fan fallout. All this definitely dampens the FA pickups the Rangers have made

I will be more upset as a fan if they come back on time with either earlier free agency, expanded playoffs, or a draft lottery.

they don't look at the fans as being important only their money. the only thing that fans can do is hit their pocketbooks after they reach an agreement, and they know the fans aren't going to do that, so they disregard us.

This might be an ideal year to grab someone in Rule 5, since the season might be shorter than usual.

More and more, I am hoping the Rangers can land Kershaw. He helps in a direct way and in some indirect ways.
