You could be right. It just seems for some reason that no one wants to touch that subject with a 10 foot pole.

Actually though, isn't reporting about the possibility of signing Suzuki and acquiring Olson just about the same thing.

I am not talking about the Rangers not discussing it. They wouldn't discuss it if no one asked them about it. Even if they were asked and put off the answer it wouldn't mean much to me.

I was referring to the local media.

It's more or less a "whaddya think will happen" conversation with no real purpose other than to pass the time. Basically what we do here. That they're not engaging in that particular conversation means about as much as the Rangers "taking away" Willie Calhoun's number.

Right now, yes.

They're focusing on the guy that just signed the biggest contract in franchise history. Bobbleheads are a huge fan favorite.

The fallout of this signing as it relates to the farm system is something that will be dealt with down the road. Right now is not the time for the local media to focus on that, either with their reporting or their conversations with fans.

My guess is the Rangers out bid somebody other than the Dodgers. Once the Dodgers got Turner there was no reason to go after Seager with serious money.
