Some folks who are thinking these recent signings are going to precipitate the departure or stifle the upwards movement of alot of the teams MIFers prospects has to remember 3 things. Both players are getting older everyday, neither of them are top defenders at SS (neither have won a GG there) and last but not least we still have other openings to be filled...

So I doubt we see the team start willy nilly moving a bunch of the MIFer prospects anytime soon. I don't see their signings as meaning the teams way of doing business evaluating/accumulating/trading/using good prospects will be changing.

(All that being said some of the more peripheral ones will be moved, as usual).

The problem with our prospects is that a lot of them don't really project well to SS long term either, that's why getting a SS this offseason made sense

My guess is the Rangers out bid somebody other than the Dodgers. Once the Dodgers got Turner there was no reason to go after Seager with serious money.

can't swear to this but heard the Rangers made the offer and he gave the Dodgers the opportunity to match but they would have had to go over 400M to match his walkaway after taxes

He probably will end up at third eventually for the Rangers but told the Dodgers he does not want to play third in the negotiations so that’s another reason the Dodgers went in another direction.

Pretty impressive .. I do think CY is likely a better people person than JD but JD is a straight shooter but probably loyal to a fault. CY will help him make the tough decisions
