I think it really depends on the mental makeup. Some guys benefit from coming up early, some tend to think they have arrived and start coasting, and then others just get overwhelmed and never get over it.
Part of The point is some teams manipulate the players clock. We don’t see that much from the Rangers and yes some development is fine with me on the MLB level. In theory this year may be a good year to do this for the right guy

Well generally it is probably less riskier to bring pitchers up earlier before they blow out their arms

Rangers have a history of bringing up guys earlier than other teams, sometimes too early. Guzman and Mazara are a current guys. Maybe even Gallo. If a guys shows him up elite yes but even form a financial basis, Cubs held back Bryant to gain more player control. Rangers rarely do this. No complaints should be in order in this regard
With our focus on 2-3 years from now, I think we will be doing more of the manipulating of ML time to keep an extra year of control.

I wonder if we will be able to package Odor's contract with Lynn and get him moved. Rather not even have him in the dugout, that's how shitty I think his attitude is.

We have been signing 1-year wasted contracts for years. For once we need to Stop and gamble on the kids like Jung, Apostel, Huff etc

Literally every team does this (signing 1 year contracts).

You could be right, but I think David Clyde was affected worse than any other. Of course, he was also the most extreme example.

It will probably take some of these young guys a couple of years to get acclimated enough for them, and therefore the team, to play at the level of a true contender. So, they really need to be up here a year or two before our window can open.

the only way i see us getting rid of Odor is if we eat at minimum half of his salary and throw in a good prospect
