So wonder what the thoughts now are for 3rd base. Definitely in the long run we need a bigger bat. Jung not ready yet

It makes no sense to move Elvis to the bench before Odor. Let's see if that move is coming too.

From Evan Grant:

The Rangers would likely add a free agent third baseman on a one-year contract as they did in each of the past two years until Jung is ready.

Kiner-Falefa would then have a year at short to prove he can produce enough at a position that has become much more robust offensively throughout the league. If he can’t, the Rangers could dive into what may be the strongest free agent class of shortstops ever after the 2021 season.

Looks like Elvis will be one of those veteran bench players that they will have for 2021.

Elvis is untradable with his vesting player option for 2023 that kicks in if he is traded.

can't see 1 FA 3rd Baseman that is worth a damn accepting a 1 year deal with the Rangers. so basically we would be signing some 3rd or 4th level FA who brings little or nothing to the team. except the cost of signing them. Jung makes more sense

A free agent 3B signed for one year would be a possible player to flip at the deadline. Hopefully, someone who could bring back a little something.

I'm guessing the priority is evaluating IKF at SS.

They are both equally terrible. One is 32 and one is 26.

Edit: actually Elvis has a worse wrc+ than Odor over a three season stretch from 2018-2020. I didnt even know it was possible for someone to be worse than Odor.
