I think they are counting on the new ballpark to bring fans back in 2020. Then they will have to provide a winner/contender on the field for the fans to return again in 2021.

In the strike shortened season in 1994 we had the sixth highest attendance in baseball while we had a winning percentage of .456. It was all because we had a brand new stadium. That will work again in 2020.

Well that losing record had us in first place and the year previous we were 10 games over 500. BTW in that offseason we added Will Clark.

Don't think it was all because we had a shiny new stadium and IMO the upgrade was huge back then. I think we will need more of a jumpstart to bolster attendance

Yeah, we signed Clark as a consolation prize since we lost Palmeiro. That was a net loss.

Sometimes a battery is too bad for even a jumpstart to help.

Maybe they will use the same strategy in 2020. That is, just hope the rest of the division has a bad year too.
