Another one run loss. You can’t give away runs and this a game via WP with bases loaded. Definitely have to move the runners at a minimum with no outs

It is sloppy unintelligent baseball I hope we can get better at but is a current reflection where we are as a team. Sloppy unintelligent team strategy lose close games

That’s a very good point.
With all the 1 run losses you’d think small ball, moving the runners over, would definitely be a strategy to employ.

For several years now bunting is considered s waste of an out. In some cases I agree but certainly not always. With 0 outs and runner on first, better to bunt and have one out with runner in scoring position than hit into a dblp and blow your chance to win.

I hate bunting as a general rule but not moving the runners over in the 9th where one hit puts us ahead or when sac fly scores one and especially when the history of this club has been to lose one run games then I am not going to argue the bunt

When our guys prove they can go the other way and not strike out with runners on then a bunt is ar least can be considered the lessor of two evils.

And you are right the DP did hurt us end of game the other day.
So maddening and so unnecessary

Again what is so frustrating is I was watching pitchtracker and thinking please don’t throw the slider in the dirt with the catcher we have and it happened and a run scores and we lose the game.

Is not the manager thinking this. Yuu have to make sure the plate is protected with the bases loaded. The interview I posted did not mention this pivotal point in the game

One last thing. We have basically 2 IVY league FO guys. Surely they see misguided strategy and the lack of preparation as evidenced by the poor defense minus the OF.

I guess this loss just ticks me off more than most

It is a microcosm of who we are as a team. We are not great talented wise especially pitching and some of the bench vets and youth but we are NOT playing to potential and I don’t care if we are a lot better the. Last year 100+ loss team.
We are alot more talented than last year

Even the use of LeClerc. He does not have it like he used to. It is obvious

I feel for players who give all they have on the field and are forgotten by a mgr who does not know how to win. Talking about Smith Duran Leody as examples. They play hard to win!

Guess anger won't help much either.
