Go watch the interview. He said he hurt it on that play where a ball was hit to the RF corner and he was caught in between diving for it and looked like he hit a wall.

whatever, all that matters is he is out a month

Turns out the whole interview isn't posted on video, but in last nights interview he said that's where he did it, and felt it again rounding first.

Josh Hamilton of Texas Rangers to miss up to a month for strained hamstring

As I said yesterday, God only knows how old his body really is.

It's always something with Josh. It can be injury, relapse, giving up tobacco midway through season and goes slumping, or just goes into random epic slump where he look apathetic and many more reasons I've probably failed to mention. That's precisely the reason why whatever Josh has given us and what he'll give us during the rest of his time here will be considered just a bonus in my book.

Ya the whole interview was played on Diamond Talk last night as well. Definitely something that just didn't happen on Sunday.

I can't get too irritated with the Josh thing. He wasn't in the plans when the year started (that we know of) and he's costing spare change. Honestly, I can't get irritated with much. With Darvish out all year, and Holland managing 1 inning before being out months at best, the fact that the Rangers are in third place and above .500 on June 4th is a fucking miracle.

At least we're only paying him 3 million a year to miss at least a month of the season.

Next year could be special.

Agree. Don't bet the farm on this guy.

Could be worse. Paying Detwiler $3.5mil and who unfortunately didn't go on the DL early enough.

In 7 appearances Detwiler has a -0.7WAR, Hamilton in 7 appearances has 0.5WAR.

I'd pay Detwiler the balance of his salary right now for his roster spot.

have they put Josh on the DL? and if so, who are they going to bring up to take his roster spot?

Infielder Travis Demeritte, the second of the Rangers’ two first-round picks in the draft that produced Chi Chi Gonzalez, has been suspended by Major League Baseball 80 games for testing positive for a banned substance.
