Phoenix gets:
2020 2nd round pick

Detroit gets:
Marcus Morris
Danny Granger
Reggie Bullock

Suns get to clear cap space for Aldridge and Pistons get Marcus Morris. Danny Granger contract expires next offseason and Reggie Bullock has a team option for next offseason. I think both teams are pretty happy with this trade.

So what happens when Aldridge goes to the Spurs?

They couldn't even swing the trade for the right Morris twin.

They cleared up a log jam at SF… they already have Warren and Tucker there so Granger and Morris were both expendable and Bullock would likely spend more time in the DLeague than the NBA next year for us anyways.

It's a good deal whether they land Aldridge or not. Frees up cap space while freeing up minutes at SF for Warren who I think will develop into a very, very good player.

Aldridge to meet with the Lakers again, but being 30 years old, I think he would be foolish to sign with the Lakers. The Lakers have nothing for him to work with in the terms of a championship run and the Lakers normally use their big men as centers. He hates that, so he needs to look for a team that is ready to compete. The Lakers time is not now. In a couple of years they will be prepared to make better moves

I think it was a bit premature. Granger and Bullock arent that valuable but Morris was a pretty solid bench player and only 25. If they dont get Aldridge I guess they could wait till next year, but like I said a bit premature unless they know something we dont know...I doubt it though.

Yeah, don't know why they make this deal without knowing if they'll get Aldridge or not.

WE shall see what Aldridge decides ALR. You are correct that Aldridge does not like to play center and he wants to win now. If he signs with the Lakers when there are clearly options out that better suit what he wants, he has noone to blame but himself.

It's not like they were trying to fill the stater spot by dumping a future second round pick. This adds a little bit of depth to the rotation. Not a bad trade, but barely newsworthy.

Phoenix and SA are in the lead for Aldridge.

Some of you are clueless man. This trade is good for Phoenix whether they get LMA or not. They had 5 SF's before making this deal, and now have 2. Their best two on the roster, that is and freed up cap space so they could pursue Aldridge or land someone in a sign and trade possibly.

Btw- Marcus Morris is ridiculously overrated along with his bro (who is much better than him). He jacks up bad shots and plays zero defense… only passes to his brother too. So happy we got rid of him. He puts up #'s once in a while when he gets hot, but he is not someone I am sad to see go in the least bit.
