I don't think Lombardi can get them Top Six. I just don't think he should keep his job if they're Top 15. That's just average.

With as much focus as Mayhew has done drafting offensive weapons, signing RBs and expensive #2 receivers Ten is about the low end of acceptable IMO.

If we'd retained our best defensive player at the expensive of offense, changing the style of the team in more than empty words in a press release or interview, I might think differently.

That's some lofty expectations for a second year guy. What happened to progression? If they are in the top ten, I think that would be great. But....it all comes down to who's running the ball for this team.

The NFL doesn't progress at a snails pace anymore. Every top picks starts, trial by fire. Teams rebuild in one offseason after blowing up old regimes. We didn't blow anything up, just changed a coaching staff and added a second receiver.


Good coaches coach to their players and those players strengths. And avoid their weaknesses. Two seasons will be enough for me to know if Mayhew made a mistake or not in hiring a guy that had never called plays before.

Detroit did have a lot more to work with. Definitely a better team than the Titans. But he chose them over us, why? Three words, The Clown Show.

Give Wiz and the Titans GM six years and I'll bet there will be more accomplishments on their resumes than two wildcard losses.

I'm sure the fact that they were offering him substantially more $$ had absolutely nothing to do with his decision...
