Do Your Job!
Can you say, "prevent defense?"
Yep...
Can you say, "prevent defense?"
Did you watch? That wasn't a prevent defense. That is just bad man to man defense for the most part. You Could have Revis, Sherman, Berry, and Thomas in the secondary in a Man D and if the coaching isn't there, they are going to look like scrubs in the modern NFL.
Playoffs have no impact on COY, I don't believe.
Sort of hard to forget when you're casting your ballot. Conscious or not, his loss in the playoffs will have an impact on his COY candidacy.

Mike Shanahan hands down...........He took sh*t and won 3 games with it, then got fired for stocking the team with sh*t.!!!! So name him award winner......prepare to hand him the trophy, yank it back and say sike!!! That's what he did to DC.
lol, who saw the Chiefs as a playoff team, they were 2-14 last year? how is he not running away with this. Carolina is better than expected but didn't have near the climb to get up the hill.
Do you really have to have a coach do something unexpected with a team in a year to make it as the years best coach? Sometimes a team is ready to go but has everything disorganized and just needs to get players on the same page with a new system. But if you have to do a total transfusion as in Pete Carrols case it may take 3-4 years of consistent improvements.
According to precedent... yes, it kind of does on a 1 year basis. This is why BB from NE hasn't won as much as maybe should if we go by "best coach." If we made a thread called "Who is the best coach" then it would be a vastly different discussion.
I had to go with Pete Carroll. Substance suspensions notwithstanding; he did an amazing job this season. Especially losing Harvin, 2 pro bowl caliber linemen & others.
I went with the homer pick, since I wanted the guy fired after week 4, and we're now the #2 seed, and I feel like I owe him.
