The Seahawks were Super Bowl favorites. Coach of the Year honors usually go to coaches who teams make dramatic turnarounds. Arians or Andy Reid, or Rivera

I don't think that way. Coach of the year honours should go to the best coaching job IMO. Just because you surprise the NFL by taking a bad team to the playoffs doesn't mean you did a great coaching job. It might just mean you had an easy schedule (like w/ Andy Reid).

Or teams may have been coasting into the playoffs; the Cardinals' win over Seattle didn't have me convinced if anything. They had a loss to give.

How exactly will it have an impact on his COY candidacy when VOTING IS ALREADY OVER?

It's why both the MVP and COY awards are stupid. They shouldn't be voted on until after the Super Bowl.

I agree with this. Also, McCoy should definitely be on this list.

Torn between Reid and Rivera.

Most Panther fans wanted him gone 3 weeks in, but that quickly changed. We all knew a Chiefs turnaround was coming, but they choked late in the year when it mattered. Think I give the edge to Rivers.

Accidently hit Reid though while on my phone in the poll.

Do you really have to have a coach do something unexpected with a team in a year to make it as the years best coach? Sometimes a team is ready to go but has everything disorganized and just needs to get players on the same page with a new system. But if you have to do a total transfusion as in Pete Carrols case it may take 3-4 years of consistent improvements.

For C.O.Y you pretty much do. Bill Walsh only won it once, 1981, because his teams were considered SB contenders almost every year. The Seahawks were Super Bowl favorites coming in, he won't win it.

That is the way it is. Bill Walsh only one once. Arians deserves it more with what he has done

I voted homer style.
I don't expect Pete to get the award, yet he is my COY.
He tore down an over the hill team and built a young powerhouse. Yes, Seattle was a highly ranked team to start the season and they went #1 pretty much wire to wire.
So far they have lived up to lofty expectations.

This is why he won't win. The COTY will go to a HC who has a team coming from loser to winner. It has always been that way. Arians gets it this year.

I think I originally picked Pete Carroll but after thinking about it I think Rivera would be the right choice to make considering how much they have improved.
