Actually, this time I am watching more NBA than ever. Can’t say why exactly but I am really enjoying it more than ever, especially the playoffs now. I really like TNT and watching the half time shows and post game analysis with Charles Barkley and his friends.

That TNT NBA show is great. The only other pre-game show that comes close, imo, is College Gameday.

Did you see yesterday when they were all busting on Barkley because of how wrong his "guarantees" have been?

They are a great team. The personalities just counter each other so well.

And they all respect each other enough that they can bash each other mercilessly when needed (mostly Charles).

Huh? There are a lot more people watching the NBA these days than last August. Just kidding.

These disgusting chinese loving thugs don't deserve a damn thing from any American.

Some real Americans love the sport though so they are stuck until someone can unpussify it.

Good thread, OP.

I understand the summer part, but I really don’t get the fan part.

I just assumed everyone tuned in to watch what goes on between the lines on the court.

Uh huh....baseball plays as many, or more day games and it's viewership is being reported as up.

NBA ratings dip out of step with trend

"Baseball.... has seen a surge with ESPN reporting Thursday that the network’s MLB viewership jumped 29% to an average 1.2 million viewers. A company spokesman said viewership is up across key demographics, including adults 18-49 (57%) and 18-34 (69%)."
comparing the getaway day games in baseball which have been played as long as I can recall to NBA playoff day games in August, which I'm pretty sure none of us have ever seen?

Fans, no fans.

Does not alter the watching experience for me 1 bit.

I might feel differently if it was my team, but I agree and I don't really notice it much.

Aren't you a Pistons fan? You should be used to watching your team play with no fans. :D
We went against the Cavs last winter.

Had way high up seats in the upper section. For $0 we upgraded to courtside when we got there. Maybe 1500 other people.

Feels like practice to me.

The lighting also sucks, low camera angle sucks, start times suck. It's just not for me.

Maybe when there are Series that could either way. Idk.

Im not excited for football without fans either tbh. Guessing I'll watch like I am baseball and football.

That's different. Summer league is a lot of g-league/players who won't make the league. This is the best of best in high intensity games
This is trivially obvious. Some posters just like to act like their opinions are generalizable

Also, LOL at anyone that implies ratings are down because troglodyte MAGA tards are boycotting.
