Ohio state hasn't punched any ticket. The committee is not beholden to anyone, any specifics or any tradition. If they want to take
SEC champ bama
Acc champ Clemson
PAC champ Washington
And
BIG champ which most likely ain't Ohio state, they will do just that so buckeyes should hold their tongues.

No, Ohio State is most definitely in.

LOL, yeah it is great to be retired. Too bad about your dad, I hope he is okay. It's always nice to have good neighbors and friends to spend the holidays with. I will be watching and cheering for the Raiders today.

He was using a walker for a week or so but he's doing a lot better but he does the driving when they travel outside of their local area.

If Penn State wins the B1G their resume is just as good or better with a conference championship.

Umm no they would not. In fact it's not close.

This is simple to fix. 8 teams. P5 Champs get the top 5 seeds and are seeded in order, 2 at larges and the top ranked G5 conference champ. I'd give the G5 champ the 6 seed every year unless they were ranked higher than a P5 champ. This year it'd be

1 BAMA VS 8 MICHIGAN
2 CLEMSON VS 7 OHIO ST
3 WASHINGTON VS 6 WESTERN MICHIGAN
4 WISCONSIN VS 5 OKLAHOMA

Those are great games and it's totally fair
We agree on this part 100%. This is the fairest and most logical way to do it. It makes everyone control their own destiny and it gives the little brother hope to get in. It's logical because winning your conference should mean something. It's fair because you don't have an odd scenario where a dominant team doesn't win their conference due to a technicality in the tiebreaker. It also rewards a dominant team that may have had a fluke loss.

The only question becomes when do they play the first game and do they replace any actual bowl games? It's probably going to be around Christmas, NYD, and 2nd Monday of the New Year.

Good I'm glad your dad is doing better. If he is driving, then he is on the way to recovery.

Winning a Conference Championship is huge and should count for a great deal. To be honest IMO, I think the Conference Champion should go to the playoffs. I'm a big USC fan and there was probably no other team that was/is playing better than them in the PAC 12, but they blew up their season with earlier losses. If Ohio State would have beaten Penn State "head to head", then no one would have any problem with them being in the four team playoffs.

I'd probably play the 1st round game around Christmas and bI'd them out to the highest bidding city.

What if Penn ST wins should they be in ahead of Ohio St? Ohio St. being locked in as number 2 is garbage. Peace.

Ohio State is "not locked into the #2 spot" for the playoffs.

Can you imagine the look on that pasty face Kirk Herbstreit when he finds out Ohio State is out?

He is actually one of the more unbiased commentators on ESPN. All former grads are a bit homeristic but they were left out last year and he also didnt have them in. Just about everyone has Ohio St in so it wouldnt just be him complaining. Finebaum even has Ohio St in.

A 2 loss PAC has 0% chance of making it and even a one loss Huskies might not even make it with their 128th ranked out of conference SOS.

People are really downplaying how the committee looks at SOS. If Wisconsin wins they are in, they have the best SOS in college football I think. Penn St still has a pretty good SOS but UW has an awful SOS. Penn St would have a tougher time getting in than Penn St bc their losses are much worse.

Actually if we can come up with a 8 team playoff, it would only mean 1 more game for 4 teams, 2 more games for 2 teams and 3 more games for 2 teams. If a team makes the playoffs that would/could be their bowl game.

PSU didn't win the big 10. But if they do, then perhaps no one from the big 10 should make the playoffs. it's the complete opposite of arbitrary since CCGs and a 4 team playoff are the only systems we have right now. Change it up then their is room to discuss letting conference runner-ups in the playoffs.... just like what is done in pro sports.

Wrong. The committee made this CFP to select the BEST four teams. It's like some people dont even pay attention to what the committee says. :L

Well the one thing we've established this year is that a G5 is never making the playoff. If an unbeaten G5 can't get in in a year where we are debating 2 loss teams then a G5 is never ever getting in

Yeah, I'm not saying they deserve to get in but they are undefeated and did what they had to. Go undefeated.

I hope you are right but I see the so called College Football Committee doing what they can to have an Alabama vs Ohio St. Championship. It's all about matchups and money. Peace.
