And what does a win over a bowl eligible teams mean anymore? There will probably be 80 or so bowl eligible teams.
Can you imagine the look on that pasty face Kirk Herbstreit when he finds out Ohio State is out?
Why not, Nebraska lost the game, so what difference does it make how much they lost the game by?
Good point. A team just has to be 6-6 during the season to be bowl eligible. And what does a win over a bowl eligible teams mean anymore? There will probably be 80 or so bowl eligible teams.
Serious as hell!! A loss is a loss. You serious Clark?
Serious as hell!!
But we weren't talking about "playoff contenders". Have any of the playoff contenders got blown out this year?Well, I respect your opinion, but I tend to disagree.
I think a 60 point loss to anyone automatically shows you can't compete with the big dogs, and thus you're likely not a playoff contender.
A loss in overtime, however, would prove otherwise.
I don't think the committee will shut out the Huskies if they win the PAC 12 CCG.That's not how it's going to play out. They'll take OSU, the Big 10 champ, Alabama, and Clemson. UW's going to get shut out so they can say "Hey, conference champs do matter! We just think the Big 10 is a lot better than the Pac 12!" Hopefully Clemson just loses next week to make things easier on them. I mean who the fuck have they played? Louisville? Florida State? They have the softest schedule of anyone and they lost to flippin Pitt.

And I thought you were talking about Nebraska getting blown out. Of course if a team gets blown out they weren't be a playoff contender.I thought we were talking about if losses by certain amounts of points mattered in general.
Which in that case would include playoff contenders.
This is the best Husky team in the last 25 years.Tyrone Willingham will make sure they don't, unless he has sour grapes.

Isn't that what a conference Championship game is for?I see it coming. If Colorado would have lost and then they won a rematch with USC then I think they would have gotten the nod but I just see things playing out like this. Whatever. There's 5-6 teams that deserve to be in there and somebody needs to take it up the ass.
If I said that, then I'm sorry because that is not what I meant. What I meant to say is if my team loses then I take it as a loss, no matter what the point spread is. Naturally if a team loses by 50 point, then that team is not a playoff contender.I am so confused. I thought earlier you said all losses are graded the same no matter how bad the loss is....
Given that both Alabama and Clemson win their CCG's, and the Committee does put Ohio State in the top 4, they could be looking at selecting only one of the two 11 win P5 Conference Champions with a CCG win.
If Colorado (11-2) wins the PAC & Penn State (11-2) or Wisconsin (11-2) wins the Big 10, this is what the seeding would most likely look like....
1. SEC Champ 13-0
2. ACC Champ 12-1
3. PAC Champ 11-2 or Big10 Champ 11-2
4. Big10 East Division Runner-Up 11-1
So if Ohio State does get the nod in this scenario, which Conference Champ gets the snub?
The PAC or The B1G?
