This is why an expanded playoff is so necessary. There is absolutely nothing about this year that makes Georgia definitively better than OSU or Missouri ranked higher than OU. But by your convo Mizzou is a "top ten win" and OU isn't.

All that parsing of stats is something I left behind long ago along with "who's the best conference" because it's fucking stupid

And entirely irrelevant because now we have 2 conferences much stronger than the others. And it's all because of eyeballs on the TV and nothing else.
We'll see after the bowl games.

Let's turn this around. YOU provide data that shows that the B1G is on par with the SEC or the Big 12 or the PAC for that matter using a time frame that is less than 30 years back. YOU provide data that says OSU is better than Missouri. I really want to see what data your high opinion of OSU and the B1G are!

fun fact

you play less top 5 teams when you're the top 5 team
Really genius?
Since 1990, (YES Final poll)
OSU played 218 games while ranked in the TOP 5 and played 15 Top 5 opponents or 6.88% of opponents played.
OSU played 201 games while NOT ranked in the TOP 5 and played 14 Top 5 opponents or 6.97% of opponents played.

UF played 117 games while ranked in the TOP 5 and played 15 opponents in the Top 5 or 12.82% of opponents played.
UF played 303 games while NOT ranked in the TOP 5 and played 36 opponents in the Top 5 or 11.88% of opponents played.

Stop making shit up!

since 1998 florida is 26-29 vs other power 5 conferences.

vs ACC 15-16
vs BIG12 1-1
vs BIGEAST 3-4
vs BIG10 6-6
vs PAC12 1-2

doesnt seem to be exactly dominating. all the while refusing to leave the state in OOC play.

When was the last time OSU won a meaningful game? 1972 vs Iowa? How many meaningful games has OSU lost?

thats the data? you dont like the data?

how about this the "mighty SEC" is 292-229 vs power 5 conferences.
that equals 56 percent of the time they win. basically a coin flip.

its winning i wouldnt say its dominating winning. The way you conference pumpers ride coattails you would think that number would be 90 percent.

BTW, I get
15-15 vs ACC (19 ended in Top 25, 7 in Top 10)
6-6 vs B1G (7 ended in Top 25, 4 in Top 10)
1-2 vs Big 12 (#5 &#6)
2-4 vs BE (all 6 ended in Top 25, 4 in Top 10)
1-1 vs PAC (both ranked in Top 25, 1 in Top 10)
That's 52 games with 36 ranked and 18 in Top 10

which program is better today

OSU or Florida

even the most rabid SEC fans will tell you Ohio State

You're right, most SEC fans would say that OSU is better than a 5-7 SEC team. Who else?
You're setting the bar pretty low for OSU.

whatever numbers you are taking out are wrong. even still whats it matter what games were ranked if you lost more than you won. in comparison USC is 33-11 to include 4-1 against the "mighty unbeatable SEC"

BTW 56-44 IS A PRETTY GOOD AVERAGE
The SEC is only 15-10 in NC (that's only 60%)!

By SEC standards UF is ho-hum. But since 1998 YOU CHOSE THE YEAR.
UF has won 2 NC's
ENTIRE B1G has 2 NC's
ENTIRE Big 12 has 2 NC's
ENTIRE PAC has 1 NC (taken away by NCAA)
ENTIRE BE has 1 NC

How about some context? How did the PAC fair vs P5? What were the match-ups, PAC #1 vs SEC #14?

Florida non conference schedule during championship year? Southern Miss, UCF, Western Carolina, Florida st team that lost 6 games. no ranked teams. the best team they faced that season alleged #8 arkansas got blown out by USC 50-14 at home.

2009 Season non conference. unranked miami, Hawaii, Citadel. Florida st team that lost to every ranked team they played. best win? alabama that lost to utah.

to recap in both seasons florida played absolute nobody in non conference. didnt leave the state. what power 5 teams wouldnt have won those games?

Florida Man being Florida Man...

and how many of those have Florida been ranked in the top 5 in the last decade

The impact of a top 5 matchup between FSU and Florida from 1993 is absolutely nonexistent in determining the quality of the programs today. Further it's substantially less impactful on recruiting than recent events.

All this data mining is useless information.
