Sorry guess it was 4-2. And yes they lost 5 before that. And before that they won 3 or 4 in a row

I get what you're saying but ultimately Iowa does as well against the big programs as any other program of their ilk

Im not crazy enough to expect us to consistently beat Michigan/OSU/PSU but we beat then more than just about anyone else on the B10 too

The last few years are mostly abberation with the offense. Prior to 2021 the offense was fine. Not great but not awful either

That's really all Iowa need to compete consistently. They're not an elite program ( top 10 ) but they're in that next 10-15 and that's about as good as its going to get at a school like Iowa

If this year's team had even the 2019 offense, they'd be so much better. At least that team had a functional passing game and respectable running backs. I actually don't hate your RB group, but there's only so much they can do when the passing game is about as non-threatening as it gets

5-2?

Lost to Tenn
Beat Kent
Lost to Kent
Beat USC
Beat miss st
Beat BC
Lost to Florida
Lost to Stanford
Lost to Tenn
Lost to OK
Lost to Oklahoma

That's 4-7 since 2011. And look at those wins, didn't beat any good teams. That's my point with Iowa (and I'm not a hater, I'm from Iowa and my family cheers for them) but the program is falling behind and needs to change.

Ferentz did great but he needs to go. Iowa needs to catch up to the modern game to have any chance to compete in the new B1G.
They thrive against the god awful B1G West but every time they play someone remotely decent OOC they get slapped around. And they still walk around like god's gift. It's hilarious.

The Big Ten has fixed this all with eliminating divisions. The only drawback is that we might see an Ohio State vs Michigan rematch in the B10 championship game. I wish they would just eliminate the championship game altogether with the new 12 team playoff. Give everyone in the conference an extra OOC money game instead (let them play an FCS school at home or something).

The BIG West is basically a spoiled rich kid that gets the shit beaten out of them the moment they actually have to pull up.

Pretty sure the new playoff format gives automatic bids to the top five conference championship game winners so B1G would need to keep their championship game or else lose a spot in the playoffs

You could still determine a conference champion like they did in the 80's and 90's without a conference championship game. It's not like the B10 won't have at least 3 teams in every playoff moving forward.

It doesn't make sense to have the championship game and create a scenario where teams might have to face each other 3 times in a season.

NW 5 straight bowl wins
Minnesota 7 straight bowl wins
Iowa and Wisconsin 4-2 in their past 6 bowl games

The notion the B10 West doesnt do well vs other leagues in objectively wrong even if you guys want to believe it's not

Those are the realities as opposed to the fantasies

Realities are the Big 10 West has been a joke. My Huskers being the eternal punchline of shitocracy the past 20 years.

B10 Championship game has never been won by the West since the inception of the East/West alignment in 2014. 10 straight wins by the East by an average score of 35.2 to 14.5, including this year's complete thumping of Michigan over your beaks to the tune of 26-0.

3 Big 10 Championship Game appearances for Iowa, and all of 16 points. Congrats, you are the tallest midget.

Yes

The B10 W teams aren't as good as Michigan, OSU and PSU

Neither are 80% of every other league in FBS

If you're comping every team in CFB to top 10 caliber programs then they all suck

This isn't rocket science

The B10 West is fine. They're just not top 10 good but neither are pretty much any other teams

No. It is not. It is a shitshow that thankfully ends next year.

SEC has Georgia from the East and Bama from the West. Big 12 had Oklahoma and Texas. Pac 12 had Oregon and Washington. Even the ACC had Florida State and Louisville in a down year.

We will no longer have a laugher of a Championship game in the B10 going forward.

Oh, and UCLA is 26th...

Iowa is ... incredibly and absurdly lucky to be in the current BIG West.
This year Iowa wasnt very. Thats not indicative of historical performance over the last 40 years/20 years/10 years etc

No one is arguing Iowa was his this year

But the notion "they never beat other P5 teams OOC" and " always lose when they play anyone good" is simply wrong

Iowa wins more than their share of OOC P5 games and they win at a higher clip vs the tip top programs than pretty much any other B10 team that isn't one of the tpp 3 ( vs UM, PSU and OSU )

Yes they don't win a lot vs those teams but that's a false equivalence. Basically no one outside the top 10 would win a lot vs those programs

Youre simultaneously arguing Iowa sucks AND then stating its because they don't win a bunch vs the elite teams

That's not how it works. No one wins a lot vs UGA/Bama/Oklahoma/OSU/ Michigan/Clemson type teams

Take out Iowa State and you've got a couple wins over shitty over ranked bowl teams that didn't even want to be there. You've got nothing man. We've already been through this.

Iowa is basically . 500 on their past 20 bowls and had always been right around that number which is games vs other P5 leagues of similar ilk

And Iowa has a winning record vs out of conference P5s on that same span

Onve again you're arguing "Iosa sucks because they don't beat awesome teams at a high clip OOC or in conference"

Which, ya know, neither does anyone else outside the top 7-8 programs

So if you're saying they suck because they're not a Top 8 program then sure you're right. And so does everyone else.
