The crazy thing for me is that I work in an industry (Information Technology) where I can be just as productive (I would argue even more productive) from my kitchen table. It's company policy that makes me physically travel to the office rather than embracing telecommuting.

We have this debate here quite often. The stance is that "most" people goof off all day if they work from home, based on one senior person's experience at another company. So no one (except his golden child protege) get to work remotely, ever.

In the world of Information Security, the top gun talent out there is making stupid money from companies that realize that telecommuting is the wave of the future. I know a guy who lives in Georgia and works for a bank in London. He goes there once a quarter. And he is one of the most talented Cyber Security people I've ever known (he's had a hand in solving two or three major breaches). We almost hired him. But the senior guy said no because he wanted remote work. Guy has a server farm in his basement. And me and five guys tried for six days to break into his network. We had diagrams. We failed. But we can't have him because some piece of shit goofed off some at some other company.

If my role didn't require physically putting hands on devices and then securing them for evidence, I would have sought a telecommute only position eons ago.

So I just did my 2016 performance review with my supervisor. It went well and we outlined a bunch of projects I have lined up for this year. It should be a fun year.

Towards the end she asked me: So where do you see yourself in 3 years?

I thought about it for a few seconds and then replied: I can't answer that. I don't have 2020 vision.

She just pointed at the door.

I think I'm getting a raise!!!

I have shamelessly stolen this.

Careful Joe, I'm sensing an angry tweet headed your way...

"Grow up, Donald. Grow up. Time to be an adult," he said. "You're president. You've got to do something. Show us what you have. You're going to propose legislation. We're going to get to debate it. Let the public decide. Let them vote in Congress. Let's see what happens."

Biden continued, "It's going to be much clearer what he's for and against, and what we're for and against, now that it's going to get down to actually discussing in detail these issues that affect people's lives."

I know I should know better by now, but...

What would there be for the media to report? You haven't announced how exactly Mexico will be forced to pay later. You never said previously that the wall would be paid for using US tax money and somehow reimbursed by the Mexicans.

Also, why's he shitting on Arnold's ratings? YOU'RE THE PRESIDENT OF THE FUCKING UNITED STATES MAN!

Not as bleak as the headline suggests and the conditions they're describing seem to be more to do with unavoidable demographic factors (unless we start en masse cryogenic preservation of the baby boomers).

Not ideal but I'm not gonna worry about anything beyond the next three years.
There you go with the 2020 thing again.

She won't nor shouldn't do it, but Michelle Obama would make one fucking hell of a politician. Maybe even better than her husband.
