if they..(pitsburgh..balks..)...then moving..on.

now..dont think...that his war..will be the same...in lf/cf...and his ..war will prob go to....4 or 5....there...but that is it...

yeah he was 2.9 WAR last year and from what I am seeing he is projected for close to 4 this year.

Obviously he wouldnt play CF which would help that number even more.

I am more concerned about walk numbers dropping and the K numbers rising from 2021

Yep. That's been our franchise for about 90% of its existence. You can also pencil in Kansas City. Tampa and Oakland are in there too although they have somehow managed to remain competitive most years in spite of the ownership.

If he takes advantage of the limited defensive shifts next year, his BA/OBP should rise while the Ks fall. But he seemed to be more homer-happy last year. If that trend continues, his WAR will remain below where it peaked in 2021.

oakland had a stocked..farm..for a long time...that is how they..did it......

tampa is tampa...they do buisness...in a certain way...cuz...they are a small market team.....royals went hot...then not..in seemingly..2 years..

and have been rebuilding ever sense.....

Jake Gelof​

Virginia..
is a top..3b..in this draft...

Gelof has been an anchor for Virginia, just as his brother was. And it's been right from the get-go. It's above average power from the right side with an affinity to use the whole field. Scouts actually like Jake's swing more than they did his brother's, and that's saying something. He's a fringy runner, but he plays a strong third base and projects to stick there at the next level. An aggressive hitter, scouts would like to see Gelof up his walks a bit in 2023 as he figures to get less and less pitches to hit as teams figure to pitch around him.

With massive dollar figures being handed out on contracts seemingly a year or three longer than expected, the Mariners have yet to sign a position player to address their stated needs.

Problem I see is the two scenarios Divish writes about. Let take trading to get them better, it going 100% against Jerry’s philosophy. If the Mariners get Reynolds they will receive Kelenic, Gilbert/Kirby and most likely Hancock. It destroys the farm and puts the money into a must get great players with their first three first round picks.

None of the remaining free agents don’t do anything for me because A. It’s Bandaid and we will be in the same spot next year B. They are all platoon guys.

This shitty off-season could be reborn if they can sign Bauer though
