Game Thread: Seahawks vs 49ers ***MUST WIN***

Already... Going to start the **MUST WIN** mojo thread to see if that can work... It's only stupid if it doesn't work, right?

On paper, this should be a game the Hawks should win... They've absolutely owned Kaep over the last few years but as we've seen, paper means diddly-squat when it comes to this team...

This is a Must Win game for the team imo... This is one of their best chances to stay alive... On national tv, they have a great opportunity to show the world that they're not finished... If they win, it get's them to 3-4 with a game the following week against the Cowboys who may or may not have Romo/Dez back for that game in Dallas... Any who, if they can win these 2, they go into the bye week with a 4-4 record with three straight games at home right out of the gate following their bye week... This game is critical, especially with it being a divisional game...

Must win... No if and's or but's about it ... going 2-5 is creating a tall mountain to climb out of ... The way I see it usually, not always but usually getting to 10 wins get's you in the playoffs... That means you can have 6 losses and get in usually ... going 2-5 gives us a 1 loss window for the rest of the season .. #$^%#@$^ stupidity got us here... Those last 2 losses have me bitter as Q#@$^#@Q .....

Even at 2-4 we are still only 2 games back with 2 games left to be played against Arizona. It'll be a tough task but if we sweep the series we probably win the division because of the tie breaker.

Steelers have been fortunate to be 4-2 despite the injury to Big Ben, but they are in the same predicament as us. 2 games behind the divisional leader.

So if anything we are fortunate the Cards have dropped 2 games they very well should have won.

I like the ***Must Win*** motto though. Backs against the wall. Chip back on our shoulder. Written off by critics. Even written off by fans.

This is when we will play our best.

I see us getting 10 or 11 wins and nabbing the wild card spot. We'll go into the playoffs as a dark horse and hot team that no one wants to play rather than the odds on favorite the previous 2 years.

Heard on the radio today that at 2-4 you're looking at an 8% chance of making the playoffs. 2-5, pretty much less than 1%. When was the last time a team that start 2-5 made it to the playoffs?

Yes, absolutely a must win! Considering that we lost to three undefeated teams and our division nemesis on the road I still feel good about the pieces in place on this team. Honestly, I think the Hawks steam roll the Niners 34-17. Although, I do feel that we have issues closing out the game and 10 of the 17 points scored against will be in the fourth quarter.

I don't waste time talking about must win. If a game truly is must-win, you don't even have to say it.

I am going to cheer my tail off for the team, but right now I've lost trust that they can go on the road and win a game. They'll have to prove it to me at this point. We have better players and certainly a better coach, but for whatever reason right now the team is dysfunctional. Still time to turn it around, but the margin for error is shrinking quickly.

loser of this game is out of the play offs. I've picked the Hawks in every game as I thought they were the better team, sans GB. Luckily I'm not gambling man or I'd be a broke mutha fucka.

Part of me is hoping we are down in the 4th, I'd rather see this team have to come back rather than hold a lead like every game this year.

Keys to win this game:

1) T.O.P. Seattle has to win TOP, and not just win - dominate. The offense needs to have long sustained drives, and the defense needs to get off the field on 3rd down. If, going into the 4th quarter, the Hawks have 30 min TOP, they'll be in position to win the game.

2) Offensive TDs. I usually don't mind the field goals as much (especially with Hausch on my fantasy team), but enough is enough. The offense hasn't had more than 2 TDs in a game all season, and that has to stop. Also, big plays are fine, but over half of the team's offensive TDs come from outside the redzone.

3) 300/100. Russell needs to take control of the offense and play like he is capable. I am not saying he has to throw for 300 and run for 100, but he needs to take this opportunity to start playing better, including in the 4th quarter. He's been lights out in the first 3 quarters (86/124 1049 6/2 104.5, 27/183 6.8 0) but just hasn't had it in the 4th (31/47 324 1/1 84.0, 15/54 3.6 0). SF has a very bad defensive backfield and the worst pass defense in the NFL, so this could be a good time to exploit that.

4) Preparation. The last two losses have been blamed on preparation (directly or indirectly) and the coaching staff and players need to clean that up. The Seahawks have blown 4 late leads this year already and it truly looks like they aren't as prepared as they have been in the past.

5) Fast start/fast finish:

Rushing: 80/275 3.4 2 TDs Passing: 78/98 79.6% 891 Yards 6 TD 1 INT 120.7

Seattle's defense needs to stop giving up big drives to start the game and need to be much better in the 4th quarter. The numbers above are 1st & 4th numbers (top) and 2nd & 3rd numbers. They can't give Kaepernick any confidence, because there is a sense that our defense will crack at the end.

I don't like that a lot of "experts" think Seattle has this one in the bag. I know it doesn't mean shit, but I'm a superstitious mother fucker.

Bobby is back this week and hopefully the defense has figured out the whole communications issue. I just don't know if this team is going to be ready after a short week and some off the field distractions. Hope they prove me wrong.
