Yet, this carpet muncher was the one who stated that the 9ers are the team to beat. He held that as absolute truth, yet Vegas is stating otherwise. Paradox here! How do you get "Co Leaders to win SB" as to indicate that 9ers are the team to beat still. They are the team to beat because they own the best defense in the NFL, yet despite all of that Vegas is saying Seattle is co leaders to win the super bowl. Ok asshole.[/QUOTE]

not dispelling Vegas but then again, its based on public perception. so not surprising, soon as a 'big' name is signed, you have an immediate reaction.

either way, its not what other teams do, its what we do? its how our draft classes pan out?

People are over valuing Russell Wilson, he's more likely to be a flash in the pan than Kaepernick. The move obviously only helps their team, but once Wilson is figured out they'll regress into a lesser type of contender. This just empathizes that the 49ers need to get 2 to 3 DBs that they really feel good about in the offseason.

They are legit questions for a dipshit who doesn't follow the 49ers. You obviously don't if you think the 49ers offense and CK will be in trouble if teams figure out the read option.

Sure the 49ers took great advantage of the read option with CK in the playoffs but they rarely used it in the regular season. Well not rarely used it, but I mean their offense wasn't built around it.
The 49ers operated out of the pistol formation on 34 of 75 plays from scrimmage in their NFC divisional-round victory over the Green Bay Packers. That 45.3 percent mark was dramatically higher than anything we saw during the regular season. The figure jumped to 54.9 percent against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game,

Who knows if CK will improve, decline, or stay the same... but if you'd actually watch 49ers games you'd know that his continued success does not go hand in hand with their pistol offense and whether or not defenses figure it out. (which is their read option package)

IMO Wilson is the real deal overall (intangibles). but agree they'll defend Wilson better (not entirely) before they defend Kap. anyway, it'll come down to who continues to pass well?

doesn't need to be DB's, just adding talent will strengthen the D. a stronger D has more opportunmities to mix it up, more chances to dial up pressure.

yep, it'll depend on his passing.

I never said the 49ers would be in trouble if teams figured out the read option. If you had any reading comprehension you could separate questions. If they were together I would have put them in the same question. I said can Kaep be as good this year? That is a questions. Will DC's learn to play the read option better. Completely separate unrelated question. Again never said the offense was built around it. Learn to read and comprehend and then maybe you should get back on a forum.

Which has been pretty good for a 2nd year QB. The 8 YPA is incredible and it jumped up to 10 YPA in the playoffs. Plus he has protected the ball relatively well with very little INTs.

One of the most impressive things with his passing to me was how he had no real rhythm or timing with Vernon Davis right away because VD doesn't like the rocket balls... but by the end of the season he was making some perfect touch passes to VD, just the way he likes them.

Seattle traded their first, seventh, and a mid round pick next year for Harvin.

I wouldn't have given up that much for Harvin. Especially w/ the kind of money he's demanding.

Here's hoping he plays 1 game this season.

Yeah that same list that has him ranked #1 on his big board willl surely see him last to pick # 25:

1 Sharrif Floyd *
AGE: 20 DOB: 5/28/92 HT: 6-3 WT: 297
POS: DT Tkl 41 Sack 1.0 Int 0

Potential to go No. 1, although a handful of names are in play. Matches exceptional power and leverage with strong hands and enough athleticism to be tough on even good tackles. He's still rounding into peak form short of his 21st birthday. Could be great in a 3-4 or a 4-3 scheme. Made major strides as the season progressed, the improvement in part stemming from a positional change and consistently improving technique. Floyd can simply drive linemen into the backfield.

Yeah, if Floyd is still there in the 20s, we should be trying hard to move up for him.

Is that considered an insult when directed at a male? Just wondering...

Danny O'Neil:

Next year's mid-round pick the #Seahawks are sending to the #Vikings likely to be a third-rounder.

I'll take Boldin for a 6th round pick over what they gave up for Harvin. Boldin is a much better redzone threat, and we already have playmakers in the middle of the field with Crabtree, Williams, James, and of course Kaep. That's before our draft as well.

I don't see how stopping the read option is a concern. Kap is perfectly capable and will be elite as a pocket passer, he almost refuses to run as it is. He loves moving around with his eyes down field. Once he gets clock management and pre-snap adjustments handled he will be among the best in the league. Boldin instead of Moss is an incredible upgrade.

All the people calling him a running QB are silly. I read this from fans of other teams all the time. They probably only saw the Green Bay highlights. He is already a pretty good passer and is good in the pocket. Another thing they say is that he is bound to get hurt, but he probably isn't in any more danger of being hurt than the average QB.

Jason La Canfora:

Also, I suspect that when the final #s are in, Percy Harvin ends up the highest paid WR of anyone at that position getting a new deal ...

Perhaps Mike Wallace will get $12M a year, but sounds like Harvin is averaging more than that in his new deal with Seattle
