iirc the shootout (aka the circus) exists (yes) to decide games but mostly for entertainment purposes

so naturally lets take some of the entertainment out of it

maybe they should only be allowed to shoot low glove side every time

Im not even a big fan of its use to decide a game ... i lean towards this sentiment:

2. Chugging contest, 1st to down 3 pints
3. Goalie fight. 1st to bleed loses.

Best 2 out of 3, but you have to win the fight or start over again.

On the Vokoun/Turco goals? The puck never stops moving forward. He slows it down and speeds it back up, but it's always in motion towards the net.
