Not remembering egregious examples tho I remember being critical of him early in the season for his media speak... when it came to actions it felt like he made changes (ie DH, letting young guys play) and of course you gotta give a guy some passes given covid, Cancer, first year and the sexual misconduct issues in the front office.

Refresh me on your major points regarding his stubbornness and / or inflexibility again?
I posted this in 2020

Ron Rivera has served his purpose and should be dismissed after the season.

No doubt in my mind he won’t make changes if this keeps up. He’s just not going to tell the media about it.

Gotcha. You certainly question whether RR is too ‘old school’ to adapt to today’s NFL

You may well be correct in the long run but jury is still out for me.

Gotta give the coach longer than 2 years to implement his vision, (I realize you are not advocating that)

But the leash gets shorter and actions and results are more heavily scrutinized, as they should be.

No doubt, Like everyone else I want Rivera to be really successful here, but Carolina north won't cut it, and neither will Carolina's Ron Rivera. He has to adapt, and become open to adapting his team, or find himself exactly where he is today, or worse, where he ultimately found himself on Dec 03, 2019.

Couldn’t agree more with you.

Just remembered one of the things last year that infuriated me at the time. Going for it depending on whether you are ‘away’ or ‘home’ post Gnats game. In a COVID year with no fans. A big wtf moment for me, lol

The next few weeks are going to be a HUGE test for RR.

We all know losses are coming/likely - given what we are seeing on the field from our team and upcoming teams in the schedule.

CAN he keep the team together and focused? Is he up to the job? Hope so.

Gonna be some rough seas ahead for fans and the team regardless.

I'm sure, looking back we all could find those moments that you've properly labeled "WTF" ones. He earned the "Riverboat" tag years ago and perhaps that is his way of living up to it, but in today's NFL there is leaguewide use of analytics, something that he has been reluctant to use because in his own words...

“I have had situations where when we’ve gone for it with the analytics, and it didn’t happen out,” Rivera said. “And I’ve been told, ‘hey, that’s ok, you did what the analytics said.’ And, to me, I struggle with that because if I do what analytics said and it says nine times out of 10, you are gonna complete it there’s that one time out of 10 you don’t.”

I actually sympathize with the analytics part. What most leave out is that CONTEXT matters in those situations.

Someone on the team needs to understand them at the most basic level and take advantage however, and someone needs to focus on better clock mgt. It doesn’t have to be the HC but the HC has to k ow they matter.

a friend went to the doctor and when asked "what's the problem" stated, "well doc, when I put my hand in the blender and hold the blades when I turn the power on, it hurts!" The doc, puzzled, looked at him with a straight face and said simply, "Well, don't do that anymore!"

It's an old joke but has relevance with respect to losses that are expected going forth.

Fandom is wonderful, I have absolutely no issue with that, but for me, who expected them to ONLY win 5 or 6 games this year I don't set myself up for those "rough seas" that you mentioned by trying to convince myself that they are something that they are not.

I've done this before and don't mind doing it again, so I ask of all our board members, take care of yourself and your emotional health by doing what the doctor suggested in that old joke. Stop setting yourselves up for the letdown!

Let me ask you... Has Ron Rivera taken on too much with this organization?

(I'll ask that of everyone in another posting)

I try not to fall for the prediction game.

Too much changes. Week to week league, injuries matter, football gods, blah blah blah

You ask me today, I’d tell ya the way we are playing, we won’t win 1 more game...

Next week? Who knows :).

I don’t think he has taken on too much. I do think that people were fooled by fools gold of thinking a 7 win team is a legit playoff team .

They rode the high of competing in the bucs game and thought we had turned the corner .

In fact we are in year 2 of a 5 plus year rebuild and it looks like we don’t have our coaches type of players

I think our d/line is too 10 in terms of talent but our defense as a hole has top 15 talent but 32nd in playing assignment football and giving proper effort .

I think we have a DC who has read HIS press clippings and won’t embrace change .

I think we have the wrong guys playing in the secondary manned by an inexperienced rookie , a hard charging 7th round pick playing sound football and a bunch of mouth running , overpaid prima donnas .
I also think we missed badly on our 1st rounder and we went with a cheap contract has been at lb and a staff that won’t make hard choices
The defense isn’t going to improve at all this year because it has a bunch of excuse making fat cats collecting a paycheck and not enough hungry players

I would love to sit here and say the Saints disguised stuff or jumped routes. Truth is Heinicke threw up some dumb shit again this week and it finally caught up with him.

Losing Scherff cost us in the run game. Losing Cosmi didn't help. Heinicke being without Logan, Brown, and Samuel is why I will overlook his terrible game today.

The fact that Seals-Jones and Reyes, two guys pretty much signed off the street are getting more run than Bates is concerning, but not surprising.

Humphries was good. If everyone is healthy, I want McLaurin and Samuel on the outside with Carter in the slot. Money aside, draft picks aside, get they guys that are producing on the field.

D Line was good enough. Chase had a good game. Forced fumble and was doubled and tripled a lot. Payne flashed.

Jamin looks like a bust. Meanwhile JOK is balling out. Kyle Smith anyone?

Secondary is a mess. Move Landon to LB or get him off the field. Pick one! He is free lancing back there and it's killing our season.

Move Fuller to FS and live and die with BSJ.

At what point does the anger toward Collins move to JDR?

Had no business losing this game today. Landon 's missed assignment, the Hail Mary, and Heinicke playing like shit cost us the game.

That missed tackle rate is pretty damn good and the 100% comp rate not as bad as it sounds. It's 5 comp on 5 targets, but for only 30 yards. I can think of two them right now where after catch Davis made the tackle immediately and prevented 3rd dn conversions..

So what the fuck is really going on. They play the fuck outta scrubs, (Collins,), bring back players too soon who will likely end up worse than they were before (Samuel) play the fuck outta players who are a half ass hit away from serious injury (Gibson) while only playing a healthy at the same position a handful of plays (Patterson) And Jamin who needs playing time gets freakin 12 snaps.

Defensively speaking
The lack of improvement and the same stupid shit being done by the same stupid players on defense has me beginning to wonder. Has RR, and the def coaches lost the team? Hearing about players being unhappy with the scheme isn't helping either. And dad is certainly on to something when he commented about the lack off hustle last week n today. That hail mary was down right disgraceful. Multiple defenders didn't even bothjer looking up for the ball. It looked more like Skins defenders were escorting Saints players though enemy territory.

Offensively speaking
Heiney is still doing the same stupid shit as well. Throwing balls late while staring down receivers. Making fucked up reads due imo to locking on to a WR. I'm starting to believe Turner's play calling isn't as bad as I originally thought it once again. There were multiple plays where WRs were wide open. Growing up Heiney's favorite player was Brett Favre. He's got the Favre moxie for sure and it's exciting no doubt. What he doesn't have though is that Favre arm talent. And even with all that talent. In the end every Packers or Jets or Vikings season ended up the same way. With a Favre pass being thrown to a player in the wrong colored jersey.

I have no issue with Turner. I think he's bright, innovative and has an eye for talent (Gibson). Sheehan has been hinting for a while that Ron and JDR may have lost the team. Doc Walker said as much on his podcast.

Your team Captain skipped OTAs.

Dak getting hurt last year may have been a curse for us. Instead of coming into camp as a 7-9 also-ran, this team and its coaches came strutting into the building like they had arrived. Division Champs with nothing to prove.

I am benching Collins and McCain now. I'm putting Curl at SS, Reaves at FS, and rotating in Everett.

I cross my fingers and hope Fuller finds his stride. Continue to start BSJ and allow Jax3 to play more man.

The LBS, I have no clue. Collins ego won't allow himself to play down there, even though they use him in the box a lot.

Like I said in an earlier post, we won't be favored in a game moving forward save for the Eagles home game. If that.

This year has quickly turned into player and scheme evaluation and not playoff hopes.

All that changes with a win over KC. Their D is trash and they have injures, but come on, that's and L.

My comment had nothing to do with Herbert. It was about how open the Charger receivers were and really was tongue in cheek as if Collins was close in coverage for the WTF.
I knew you were jokin around. I thougfht I was to till I read my shit back today. My bad. It wasn't my intent to come off so harsh.

Piss stain can’t play anywhere in coverage no matter where you play him . He is straight up dried up sidewalk urine
