You're still not understanding that ball placement is why Rivers gets more YAC.

What does YAC have to do with this statement?

Yet Rivers has a higher YPA because he places the ball better. And leads all passers by over 300 yards.

But since you brought it up... In 2014, Seattle finished 2ND in the league in YAC per reception, SD finished 20th. And in 2013, Seattle finished 5th in YAC per reception, SD finished 7th.

Keep reaching.

That excuse needs to go away now. Their OL has looked pretty good lately. A lot of the sacks he takes are on RW himself.
Back to the thread topic. He will never be a stat guy so that's unfair. I wish Romo threw the deep ball as well as him. He always seems to just drop it right in...pisses me off!!!

RW needs an OL. The one there now is not worth a shit, and RW is going to be injured very soon, and probably for good. Pete Carrol needs his ass kicked. What a stupid idiot.

You may be right on everything you said here? But I would say you're 100% wrong that people will forget Butler's name. He will go down in NE sports history. Just like the bad Bucky F-ing Dent, Bill Buckner...

Ok...maybe not in BOS but you get my point...I'd already forgotten his name...funny how negative stories stick with you...good to see the city embrace Buckner though.

@eaglesnut let me guess, you've changed your mind about the importance of yac and ypa and what those stats tell you about the ability to "place the ball"? :dhd:

No, a lot of YAC comes from getting the ball in stride. I am surprised Wilson's jump balls end up with that much YAC, but he does get some long plays outside the pocket, and he doesn't throw that much so on a per reception basis that makes sense.

Wilson is 17th in pass attempts this season. So he's about middle of the pack. Someone like Brady who is in the top ten for pass attempts is only about 7 attempts per game more than RW. That isn't a lot. It makes sense since the Seahawks are a run first team. Also, Seattle is a true running team and they actually hand the ball off, whereas some teams (like the Pats and Chargers) will use very short passes almost like a hand-off but technically still a pass.

Philip Rivers, the worlds best Fantasy Football QB, tosses up another huge statistical game, in garbage time, in another loss

But when we all look back on Philips' season, we will say he was better than Russel Wilson, while Wilson is probably competing for another SB Run

He doesn't just throw jump balls. I know it may seem like that if all you're watching of him is SC highlights though. But you don't get YAC PR like that from deep throws, most deep throws are stopped at the point of reception. Lol, yac from jump balls? Seriously bud, you just keep on reaching don't you?

My entire team at the half gave me nothing

Than in the second half

Julian
Julio
Arian
HOYER (Red Rifle on a bye)
Ivory

All of a sudden, i was the leading scorer in the league

Thank God Mallet missed the flight, he would have replaced Hoyer at half

Yes that is a lot. 7 attempts is 25% of Wilson's throws.

You are half-baking your stats to make your point here. 11 teams have used multiple QBs so that puts Wilson 17th out of 21 full time starters. And he hasn't had his bye yet. Wilson is 32nd overall in attempts per game.

When deep throws are completed he often gets all the yards between the WR and the endzone counted. He gets a lot of YAC from broken plays too, which I alluded to.

Would it be better for you if Wilson "threw" the ball one or two yards to Lynch and Jackson a couple more times a game instead of just handing it to him?

I don't care how he tries to get done his easiest job in sports.
