Once they pay him they'll be down about that many weapons for good within a couple of years
Not really. The NFL salary cap is a mirage if you have good numbers people that can structure things so you continue to kick the can down the road.

Yep, the hangover is a real thing. Takes a lot to really shake it. Only a few teams do. Every year when we see this, I am more and more impressed by what Marv Levy's Bills did in the early 90's.

Dominated the AFC. Unfortunately, the NFC had the title teams at that time.

To a degree. The rookie QB contract is still a huge plus regardless, especially at round 7 prices.

No doubt. It allows for teams to stack cap hits in the years when the QB is cheap.

They've got McCaffrey on a backloaded contract too. His real cap hit comes due in 2027.

You will eventually have to clean up your books but usually, that's well after your SB window closed when you would want to anyways.

If your number guys are smart they have it to where you can clear the books in a season and than you can gear up for your next run the following season.

Brock Purdy's average target separation is 2nd WORST (2.9 Yards) & has been pressured the 6TH MOST in the NFL.

Here is where he ranks in the NFL:
Completion % over expectation: 1st
Passing Yards: 2nd
Total EPA: 2nd
Yards per attempt: 2nd
Passer Rating: 5th
CMP %: 7th

That was arguably the greatest 4 year run in history. They just had shit luck closing it out especially wide right

Nah, the Chiefs current run with 2 rings, a SB appearance and an AFCC appearance beats for 4 straight SB losses. Other teams have had better 4 year runs IMO.

Brock Purdy is my favorite player in the league who does not play for Washington. How can you not root for him and his story? The Niners play an exciting brand of football, they actually throw the ball between the numbers and down the field when most every other team relies on short throws which I find boring as Hell.

There were reports of a sore back mid week but nothing that would stop him from playing this week
He has to be in a coma for the Niners to sit him. They were brilliant and decided to go into the season without a backup again.

I hope any doubters are watching today. He’s been unreal just like last week and doing it without his weapons.
