This would be a great deal for the Pens.. not for this season, but seasons to come.

A couple of thoughts... Gogo and Depres will never happen. One or the other.. can't trade the player and the replacement. Tangradi's name being shipped around, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Package Talbot and Gogo ... I have been saying this since before the year started.

Sounds like a good deal for the Pens, the NHL network seems to be pretty shocked at the deal from the Stars standpoint.

I can't believe they didn't have to send more to the Stars. Good job Shero.

What the heck is Niewendyk thinking? Shero took him to school on this trade. When Crosby comes back he's got a stud to play with, now & in the future.

Makes me wonder what kind of return Richards will get. It might not be as much as I thought.

Dallas is probably trying to save cap space for Richards. Great deal from the Pens perspective.

This is fun!

I agree, it's been fun. All these trades for players that nobody would expect. These aren't rent a player trades. Their have been some big name players dealt who have more than just the end of the year left on their contract.

With the concussion symptoms brad Richards value may fall.If that's all they got for a healthy neal I don't know what that would translate into a unhealthy Richards.Pens clearly got the better end of this one atleast they made the trade prior to our next game against Dallas.

If they are able to keep a 90-point player in Richards, though...

Life in the cap world. Dallas needs to clear space to keep a world class player. Pittsburgh definitely reaped the benefits, but I think that is what Dallas's intentions were.

Neal is going to look ugly in Black and Yellow.

he would have made a great line mate for Kopitar. but there was no way in hell that trade would have happened within the division.

With all these pre deadline trades and injuries to players being rumoured someone may want to check on Pierre Macguire.I shutter at the thought of what he'll be talking about if deadline day is slow.

You wouldve had to give up more than 1 roster player for that. If your teams intentions are to improve for the playoffs I think its counter productive to give up roster players.

Geez Garth was asleep at the switch again. He could have possibly gotten Neal for Andrew MacDonald who I like & is locked up for 4 more years at 500 thousand per but James Neal would have looked great playing with JT.
