There are a small handful of players you build around before rondo.
If this was true then Boston would never even pretend to talk about trading him and Milwaukee, Utah, etc would be throwing high draft picks at Boston.

The poster I was replying to did not call it a fantasy.

Or wishful thinking for that matter. He apparently believes it's more than either.

I understand what you're saying - but 80% or more of what some say in here is pure fiction or fantasy that they believe to be the word God. Just warning you:laugh3:

Every statement from Boston has been that rondo goes nowhere.

This article is the same unsubstantiated nonsense that has been going around since pierce and kg were traded. There has not been a single legitimate source backing it.

I can't imagine any team trading a guy like Rondo, tbh. If you have a top 50 player in his prime, you generally dont trade him. Rondo is probably a top 20 guy when he wants to be. That makes him even less likely to be traded.

A DUMB front office might trade him but ours is not in that category.

Ours takes advantage of the ones that are in it.

If you trade Rondo now, you are selling very low.

He can be a guy that is the 2nd or 3rd best player on the floor in a playoff series. You don't trade players like that coming off injury.
That's the snag, though.

Do you try to look like a genius by unloading this player who still hasn't proven over playing time that he's healed? Trying to predict he will or won't have lingering problems from here on out? Having to sell somewhat low now because other teams will also have those same questions.

Or hold onto him, hope all goes well and have a healthy Rondo to sell high at next seasons deadline or before the season starts?

Sell now and get something or have Rondo later, that nobody wants?

I think you have to trade him.

I can't think of a single team thats EVER built around a PG. It just doesn't happen. You build around bigs or great SGs.

At some point he will have more trade value than what he gives you on the floor. That time may have already passed.

Rondo s value will be measured by how healthy he looks. He is very young and has post season pedigree. I think he is staying but Danny has trade exception to play with and it needs to be used on him bass green or even humphries. Lots more dealing ahead

don't know much about rondos value... would welcome a gasol for rondo trade...don't think that would happen though...has his shooting improved since losing to lakers in 2010? pretty sure he was a liability on offense. they pretty much played off of him dared him to shoot.

Rondo's shooting was BAD his rookie year but has improved steadily since then. His passing is phenomenal even by PG standards and his basketball IQ is stratospheric!

If I have my way he'll be a Celtic his entire career!

Rondo is always on the market. If Danny ever get's a deal he likes Rondo will be gone. Until then Danny is gonna hang onto him.

I'm a big fan of Rondo too, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Danny moveRondo or Green this season or before the draft.
