there's actually an entire board dedicated to the reds on SportsHoopla

this whole thread can be deleted.

There's probably a lot of boards dedicated to Bearcats, Reds, and other teams, but we don't want to converse with them.

We like our Bengalized shell. It really does cover all of Cincinnati sports.

Votto's knee.

Palmer's Knee

Kenyon's leg

Cincinnati isn't allowed to have sustained success or win.

I spent some time over there last year. Pretty dull, and dominated by two or three guys. Doubt they can hang with our gang. The Reds thread here covers them as they should be covered, with our bengalized bunch of die hard cynics.

Another terrific outing by Homer Bailey.

I'm certainly glad a small-market team like the Reds can find the cash to pay superstars like Bailey, Votto, Phillips and Bruce.

Who-Dey!

Championship, indeed! Apparently they are not interested in finding someone capable of hitting with runners in scoring position. The last four guys on this roster are not major league talents. Neftali Soto needs to be sent far, far, away...............

I've never even heard of half of these bums......

This is what you get when you sign a first basemen with Sean Casey talent to a Prince Fielder contract.

I honestly can't think of any huge contract that worked out for the team. The idea that you can successfully predict what a guy's production will be over ten years seems stupid to me. Many major league teams seem to have more dollars than sense.

The Cards were smart enough to let Pujols go. They also obviously put their money into their minor league sytstem, so that when a need arises, the solution is ready.

Always thought they would be smart to let Pujols walk..... I was hoping they would make 1 stupid move and cave in to his demands. They're better than that though.

They also sell significantly more tickets than we do. Somehow it's possible for their fans to go to ball games on school nights -- Something unheard of in Cincinnati.

They're just a better baseball town. Sad.... But true.

Wow! We beat the Cardinals.... On a night that Homer Bailey pitched.

They must have been tired.

Question...... If you were a gambling man (and I know you are), how much money would you need to be guaranteed to win for you to place $100 dollars on the Reds to sweep the series.

I figure at home we're about even money on the average daily(pitching matchups not considered) , so I would make the odds against the Reds sweep about 7-1, so 10-1 would be enough value. So in other words, 1000 would be a good return and make a worthy bet.

That's fair.

Even after winning the first, I'm not sure I'd put a 100 down right now unless I was guaranteed 1500 for the sweep.

Two things -- I'm cheap. And I've watched Cincinnati sports for too long.

Met up with a long time poster on another Reds forum at Frickers off Tylersville to watch the game tonight. Good dude.

Who wants to meet next?

You would have to consider Wainwright is pitching Sunday. The Cards moved him up a day because of a day off. Something the Reds could have done with Cueto but for some reason chose not to. I guess they think Cingrani, who could easily be skipped since he just came off the dl, gives them a good enough chance to win.
