I am not sure Olt can be the centerpeice of any deal with his overall performance so far this season. Everything I have read suggest Olt would be part of the deal even with Ramirez as the centerpiece. Honeslty, it might not be looking that great right now for this deal getting done. They seemed real close earlier and now there are some reports that say the deal could be moving in the other direction.

I think this is completely wrong. Olt carries a much higher value than Ramirez and would most certainly be considered the centerpiece if he was involved. He had eye issues during the first half of this season but from what i have heard/read it seems like he has picked it up.

Well, thats just my opinion... I have been wrong before and I'm confident I will be wrong again. That being said, most of the reports I read where they were saying Ramirez as the centerpiece also included Olt as part of the package.

I'm reading the same things you guys are. As bad as Jim Bowden is sometimes, he's at least somewhat credible to the point that I can believe that this is a done deal.

btw, no thanks to bud norris as plan b. he would be nothing more than a 5th starter here. unless, of course, we get our injured pitchers back and they return to somewhat of form this season (unlikely) norris would probably be nothing more than a bulllpen piece then imo

I agree, as far as Norris goes, I hope the Rangers just say no. I think in the article, they were just guessing that he might be the plan B... surely there is something better than that they can cook up. I mean Norris is OK but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that is going to give you a boost in a playoff run.

I don't know how credible that guy is, but everything I've read is that its done. And the guy I work with told earlier today it was done, they are just finalizing a few minor details.

I agree, Darvish is due back soon and it looks like Ogando is on the same track. I just dont see Norris being worth it, I would rather keep Grimm out there and wait for the other guys to get healthy.

not better than harrison, garza, ogando, or colby. hell, id still rather have perez out there. i know we cant rely on the injured this season. but its unfair to call bud norris a plan b in comparison to garza. more like a plan d. he does not put the rangers over the top. again this is just my opinion

His number over his career always have been a Stud at home and a Dud on the road. Look at his numbers the last 2 years its a huge difference.

era for norris isnt shabby, but 125 hits in 114 innings pitched and only 81 k's in 114 innings a k/bb ratio of barely 2:1 for a power pitcher is not anything to get too excited about.
