rangers trade thoughts........

The cubs did say they would give teams a window to negotiate an extension, I hope thats what the delay has been. I also expect the cubs to pay all but a million dollars of sorianos deal so you get a left fielder that can play in the heat who is on fire now. He can carry a team for weeks, but when the playoff start and its 35 on the west coast, he might as well be kept in a steamer and DH.

I just cant see why Olt would be included. We wanted him last year and couldnt get him, now he is hitting .200 and we have Bryant. You might be getting Vitters or Christian Villanueva back as well if Olt is included. I cant see why the cubs want anything other than pitchers with our current prospects either outfielders or 3B who might end up in the outfield.

Yea and apparently Lake is coming up now, is that true? If thats the case maybe you guys are trying to move Castro somewhere. Bryant would go to the OF if you got Olt. Olt had eye problems at the beginning of the season and sat on the DL most of the first half but has been great since coming back. He hit 26 HR last season, he has the tools to be great.

i wasn't even told alfonso was involved . I was told it was completed. I don't know what's taking the media so long. Maybe their exchanging medical records or other information at this point. I've heard its "2 pitchers, one of them being ramirez and olt." I threw edwards in there from what ken rosenthal was hearing. That's a huge amount to trade for Garza. But I trust JD is smarter than that guys. Until I hear its only Garza I'm not jumping the gun. JD is very loyal and faithful to his young guys and doesn't just trade them out of desperation.

The only one that can hurt is Olt. But hearing Edwards is projected to be a backend starter or bullpen guy. Rameriz has trouble with control and will probably be a back end bullpen guy

All 3 of those guys are like top 15 prospects for us. For a rental that isn't even as good as a Greinke from last year is just not my idea of a smart trade. Perhaps thats whats holding it up though. Maybe there is one player JD is trying to pry from chitown to feel like its even.

If there's six players involved its not just a rental for garza. If that's true there's another element to this trade that JD has yet again kept quiet until the very end.

Those 2 pitching prospects can be good bullpen and depth guys but we will see

I'm not hearing there are 6 guys anywhere. I've read that "many more prospects are involved then we first thought." And that Rangers might be adding (or substituting) either sardinas or odor for neil ramirez. If they are adding one of these guys, there has GOTTA be someone from the cubs involved, if they are substituting, then it might be just MG

Its probably gonna be 4 rangers and 2 cubs. So maybe we actually are getting soriano? Just speculating
